2026 North Dakota High School Team Preview: Velva-Drake-Anamoose

The 2026 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement is building throughout North Dakota. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across North Dakota.
Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in Minot or Jamestown at the NDHSAA Class A and B State championship games, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to shine a spotlight on all teams across the state as we preview individual teams across North Dakota.

TEAM OUTLOOK
“We are excited about a number of guys returning. Our pitching staff returns a number of guys that threw a lot of innings for us and they will have to continue to throw quality innings. Defensively we have a number of guys that can play multiple positions. Offensively we have to continue to improve throughout the season. We have find ways to score, whether thats through bunting or stealing and we have to improve in our 2-out hitting. I think our region is going to be very competitive and we're hoping to be in the mix at the end of May” – Matt Weidler, head coach
