We continue our spring high school previews and projections with a look at 15 "Picks to Click" as we inch closer to the 2026 baseball season. Highlighted in these stories are players that we believe are in contention for "Player of the Year" or "Pitcher of the Year" and we will give a detailed analysis, including video on each. Without further ado, the next player we would like to highlight is Iona University commit Michael Goldsmith from Mount St. Joseph.

Yet another Future Games alum poised for a huge senior campaign, Michael Goldsmith has steadily climbed the ranks as being one of the best backstops in the state. A left-handed, power hitting catcher, look for the Iona commit to really shine this spring.

A staple during the summer and fall, Goldsmith has consistently shown the ability to not only stack quality AB’s, but showcase gap-to-gap power on a fairly consistent basis, and looks to continue the success this spring with the Gaels. A middle of the order type, look for the power number to increase this spring, and if Mount St. Joe wants to make a run at a conference title, Goldsmith will have to provide consistent thump at the dish, while also managing one of the top pitching rotations in the state. One of my favorite lefty swings in the conference is poised for a huge senior season.
