This weekend, Prep Baseball is set to host the annual Super 60 Pro Showcase on Sunday, February 1st, in Chicago, IL. The 2026 roster features more of the top-ranked players in the country than ever before, from an even wider range of states across the country and Canada – from New Mexico to New Jersey and many more states in between - this year’s event should be a robust one.

The Super 60 has genuinely evolved into a key event along the MLB Draft track, especially over the past few years. From the event’s 2024 roster, players in attendance earned a Super 60 record of over $17 million in signing bonuses at that draft later that same summer. In 2025, three members of the Super 60’s roster went on to become top-100 picks, including the No. 8 overall selection.

This year, three prospects from Illinois are set to represent The Land of Lincoln. Find out more about those players below:

SUPER 60 PREVIEW

Dominic Battista OF / SS / Oswego East, IL / 2026

Illinois-Chicago Commit

From 8/05/25: "OF Dominic Battista (Oswego East, 2026; Illinois-Chicago commit) continued to stand out in all facets for our staff. A lean athlete standing at 6-foot, 157-pounds, the left-handed hitter was a big winner during the workout portion of the event; running a 6.57 60, reaching 90 mph from the outfield, and averaging 92.2 mph off the bat (T99 mph) during batting practice. He has a hitterish presence in the box, shows an advanced understanding of the strike zone, and showed minimal swing and miss in the zone. A willing and aggressive base-stealer, Battista also grabbed five bags in the three games during the event. To round out his stellar performance, Battista continued to play advanced defense in centerfield that our staff has become accustomed to seeing in the past. A high-level player who could garner pro interest next spring."

Caleb Cox RHP / 1B / Springfield Lutheran, IL / 2026

Northern Illinois Commit

From 1/27/26: "+ RHP Caleb Cox (Springfield Lutheran; Northern Illinois commit) was arguably the event’s biggest winner, earning an invite to the Super 60 as a result. The ceiling is immense with Cox, standing in at a wide-shouldered and high-waisted 6-foot-4, 199-pounds. The right-hander has an easy, athletic delivery, working with a high leg-kick into a slight drop/drive lower-half, staying in-line with premium extension down the mound. Loose, quick arm circle, creates layback before firing into a high ¾ slot. The fastball sat 92-94 mph throughout, topping at 95 mph with life out of the hand and some carry through the zone. The slider showed out-pitch potential at times with hard, 11/5 action and the ability to land it for strikes, 77-79 mph. He showed both a changeup and a splitter to finish his arsenal - with the changeup playing in the 81-85 mph range with fading action, maintaining arm-speed. The splitter worked in the 77-78 mph range with hard downer action and tumble, looking like a potential out-pitch. High ceiling, low-milage arm to know."

TJ McQuillan 3B / OF / Mount Carmel, IL / 2026

Wake Forest Commit

From 5/14/25: "Wake Forest commit. 6-foot, 215-pound, strong, barrel-chested frame. Ranked No. 3 in the Illinois’ 2026 class, No. 115 Nationally. Physicality oozes in the box and all over the diamond. Finished 1-for-3 with walk and run scored. Grounded a ball up the middle in his second at-bat. Despite grounding out in his third at-bat, impressed with a 4.32 down the line given his frame and position profile. Physical left-handed hitter with advanced bat strength and bat speed. Name to know for the 2026 draft circuit."
