On December 30th, the Prep Baseball California team hosted the Orange County Preseason ID at JSerra HS in San Juan Capistrano, Cal. This was an open event for high school classes (2026-2030), and gave our staff an ample look at the area’s top prospects.

Today, we will release all pitcher’s scouting reports from the event in alphabetical order:

PITCHER ANALYSIS

Aiden AMAT, Orange Lutheran (CA), 2029
Positional Profile: OF/1B Younger and athletic ballplayer. Swings the bat well, plays sound defense, and throws strikes on the mound.
Body: 5-11.7, 160-pounds. Lean frame with a projectable body. Can easily add mass given his proportional body.
Delivery: Tall and upright delivery. Shorter stride and lower frontside. Rotational lower half and body follows.
Arm Action: LH. Higher 3/4 slot. Quick and shorter arm action. Hides the ball well while being able to get over the front foot.
FB: T81, 79-81 mph. Fastball plays well. Has vertical ride and late life. T2216, 2024 average rpm.
CB: 66-68 mph. CB has a 12-6 movement profile with late break. Tunnels with the FB. T2397, 2170 average rpm.
CH: 72-74 mph. Closely resembles the FB profile. Similar spin with slight downward and horizontal movement. A pitch to neutralize hitters. T1803, 1660 average rpm.

Braedon Baggs, San Clemente High (CA), 2026
Positional Profile: RHP Lengthy pitcher with a solid 3-pitch mix. CH does a great job complementing the FB with late depth. SL moves well, more East to West.
Body: 6-6.5, 218-pounds. Extremely tall and wiry frame. Projectable with some added mass and strength.
Delivery: Upright mechanics. Stays tall and loads quickly into the back hip. Only showed a slide step delivery. Stays closed well and glides down the mound.
Arm Action: RH. Longer arm path as he moves down the mound. Arm has the tendency to get stuck as front foot strike. Whippy arm with an over-the-top release.
FB: T87, 86-87 mph. Lower spin fastball with a good movement profile. FB gets good ride up in the zone. T2071, 1943 average rpm.
SL: 71-74 mph. A sweepier SL with more horizontal movement than vertical movement. Late break and commands the pitch well. T2024, 1954 average rpm.
CH: 79-80 mph. CH has much more depth than fade. More of a strikeout pitch with North to South movement profile. Plays well off the FB. T1628, 1506 average rpm.

Thomas Bonikowski, Huntington Beach High (CA), 2029
Positional Profile: RHP/OF Young and athletic player. Numbers will improve with added size and mass. Smooth swing and strong arm.
Body: 6-1.2, 179-pounds. Tall and lengthy frame, lots of room for added mass.
Delivery: Bigger frame. Rides back hip through front foot strike. Lands slightly opens and pulls hard with the lead arm.
Arm Action: RH. Traditional arm backswing. Arm consistently gets up on time. More over the top at release.
FB: T81, 80-81 mph. Dominates the zone with the FB. It has good ride and spins well. T2189, 2112 average rpm.
CH: 71-72 mph. Exceptional CH with both fade and depth. Is a really good out pitch. T1809, 1744 average rpm.

Kekoa Delatori, Mira Costa High (CA), 2028
Positional Profile: RHP Solid 4-pitch mix. FB lives up in the zone and tunnels well with CB. Starter build.
Body: 6-0.1, 197-pounds. Big and strong body, athletic.
Delivery: Repeatable mechanics. Rides the slope well and gets into the back hip. Strides slightly open with a more of a rotational movement.
Arm Action: RH. Standard arm swing. Has a quicker arm at a higher 3/4 slot.
FB: T86, 85-86 mph. Strong FB with feel at the top of the zone. Solid ride that complements his 4 pitch mix. T2145, 2055 average rpm.
CB: 69-70 mph. Tighter CB with late break. Tunnels with the FB. T2174, 2109 average rpm.
SL: 73-74 mph. SL primarily moves horizontally with minimal depth. Stays through the slider well. T2206, 2090 average rpm.
CH: 75-77 mph. Quality CH with more fade than depth. T1591, 1546 average rpm.

Jacob Farias, Elsinore High (CA), 2026
Positional Profile: RHP/3B Legit 2 way prospect with power swing and upside 3-pitch mix.
Body: 6-1.7, 188-pounds. Tall, physical frame with room to grow.
Delivery: Upright mechanics and stays tall through the delivery. Hinges well into the back hip, allowing him to ride the slope efficiently. More effortless velocity.
Arm Action: RH. Bigger arm swing that can occasionally get stuck. Arm is up on time and at a 3/4 slot.
FB: T89, 87-89 mph. Spins the FB well. Commands the lower half of the zone. Throws a 2-seam that can generate groundballs. T2287, 2186 average rpm.
CH: 77-77 mph. Great feel for the CH. Movement profile complements the FB well. Has both fade and depth. T1434, 1388 average rpm.
CUT: 81-83 mph. Tight CU to keep hitters off balance. Works well to get LHH off the plate to open up room for the CH.

Scott Forest, Temecula Valley High (CA), 2027
Positional Profile: RHP/3B Has a running FB and solid secondary pitches. Spins the slider well, great out pitch.
Body: 5-9.9, 161-pounds. Proportional body with room to grow.
Delivery: Rotational mechanics while staying tall throughout the delivery. Naturally gets into the back hip with a slight hinge while moving down the mound.
Arm Action: RH. Longer arm swing. Gets into hip shoulder seperation well. High 3/4 slot.
FB: T84, 80-84 mph. Fastball plays well. Showed best when dotting arm-side. Has natrual arm-side run. T2188, 1991 average rpm.
SL: 75-77 mph. Very tight slider. Has very late break and a strong horizonal movement profile. Out pitch. T2655, 2594 average rpm.
CH: 77-79 mph. More fade than depth. Plays off the FB well. T2554, 1746 average rpm.

Macai Friedman, El Camino Real Charter High (CA), 2027
Positional Profile: RHP Quality RHP with 3 pitches for strikes. Fastball has great ride and both CB and SL complement the FB.
Body: 6-1.5, 186-pounds. Tall and lean frame, room to grow and develop.
Delivery: Moves down the mound well. Starts in a taller position and sinks into the back leg and rides the slope. Breaks the hands late leading to a quick and whippy arm. Stays linear and keeps the front hip closed.
Arm Action: RH. Slight arm backswing with an over the top release point.
FB: T84, 82-84 mph. Fastball has lots of ride and will get on hitters quick. Plays well up in the zone. T2218, 2061 average rpm.
CB: 63-66 mph. Slurvier CB. Tunnels well with a low and away FB. T2056, 1987 average rpm.
SL: 67-70 mph. CB and SL profiles are very similar. SL is a tad sharper and has later movement. T2200, 2142 average rpm.

Wolfgang Geye, Polytechnic High (CA), 2027
Positional Profile: RHP Solid 3 pitch mix. All pitches have consistent movement profiles and he has feel for them in the zone.
Body: 6-2, 152-pounds. Very tall and lengthy frame, has lots of room to add mass.
Delivery: Repeatable mechanics and stays linear. Energy is going towards the catcher. Stays back well and allows the arm to get up on time.
Arm Action: RH. Higher slot with a traditional arm backswing. Stays behind the ball well.
FB: T79, 77-79 mph. Great control with the FB, can put it on both sides of the plate. FB plays up in the zone. T1811, 1753 average rpm.
CB: 69-71 mph. A tighter CB with late break. Tunnels well with the FB up in the zone. T2225, 2111 average rpm.
SPLT: 70-72 mph. Late downward movement, tunnels well with the FB.

Geno Guerrero, Redondo Union High (CA), 2026
Positional Profile: RHP RHP with a solid 3-pitch mix. Has a heavy FB with great ride. Both CH and CB tunnel off the FB..
Body: 5-11.2, 190-pounds. Built frame with some room to fill out. Quick and athletic mover.
Delivery: Efficient mechanics. Gets down the slope well and does a great job getting into the back hip. The momentum created down the mound allows him to easily get over the front foot.
Arm Action: RH. Conventional arm swing. Arm is in a powerful position at front foot strike. Releases the ball high 3/4 to over the top.
FB: T88, 88-88 mph. FB has great ride and plays well up in the zone. Has a high spin rate and late life. T2242, 2168 average rpm.
CB: 76-77 mph. Tight slider with late break, moves enough to miss barrels. Tunnels well with FB. T2158, 2075 average rpm.
CH: 78-81 mph. Low spin CH with arm side fade and depth. T1371, 1204 average rpm.

Emmett Maloney, Mira Costa High (CA), 2027
Positional Profile: RHP/SS Repeatable mechanics with a strong 3-pitch mix. Has feel for all pitches in the zone.
Body: 6-1, 175-pounds. Tall and lengthy frame.
Delivery: Tall and slower delivery. Stays smooth until front foot strike. Once the front foot strikes he is explosive through the catcher. Stays tall and rides the back side well.
Arm Action: RH. Slower arm action. Lags behind until the front foot lands and his arm is up in a powerful position. Release is straight over the top.
FB: T88, 86-87 mph. Heavy fastball with feel for it in the zone. Gets on hitters quick. T2080, 1964 average rpm.
CB: 71-73 mph. Bigger CB with 2 o'clock to 8 o'clock profile. T2111, 2050 average rpm.
CH: 80-81 mph. CH has both strong fade and depth. Tunnels with the fastball. T1980, 1763 average rpm.

Tristan Miyashiro, Casimir Middle (CA), 2030
Positional Profile: LHP/OF Quick, twitchy, athletic mover both in the box, field, and on the mound.
Body: 5-8.7, 158-pounds. Younger and leaner build. Body is proportional and can easily add size as a '30 graduate.
Delivery: Linear delivery while getting into a strong back hip position. Rides the slope to generate his energy towards home plate. Stays back long enough to let his arm to get up on time.
Arm Action: LH. Longer arm action, good hip shoulder separation.
FB: T83, 81-83 mph. Spins the FB well for a younger arm. Velocity and action will improve with time. T2154, 2098 average rpm.
CB: 65-67 mph. Sweepy, slurvy profile. Late break and tunnels well with FB. T2178, 2123 average rpm.
CH: 66-69 mph. Slower CH that fades armside. Somewhat inconsistent but can be a great out pitch against righties. T1100, 1039 average rpm.

Luke Moore, Santa Margarita Catholic High School (CA), 2028
Positional Profile: 1B/LHP 2 way prospect with upside. With added speed and rotational power he can make significant jumps. 4-pitch mix with feel for the zone and competitive movement profiles.
Body: 6-1.1, 191-pounds. Young and physical frame. Extremely projectable with added speed and quickness.
Delivery: Repeatable mechanics. Stays back well and allows the arm to get up on time. Stays linear throughout his delivery. Can stay closed longer to help create more whip.
Arm Action: LH. Longer arm swing with great hip shoulder separation. Arm is slightly pushy at release.
FB: T76, 75-76 mph. Fastball rides well, can play up in the zone with added velocity. T2036, 1975 average rpm.
CB: 61-64 mph. CB has a consistent movement profile with solid vertical and horizontal shape. T2109, 1963 average rpm.
SL: 61-63 mph. SL plays well off the CB given its sweepy profile. SL moves more East/ West compared the the more North/ South CB. T1924, 1891 average rpm.
CH: 66-68 mph. CH has great fade along with some depth. Will offset the FB and miss bats. T1605, 1555 average rpm.

Caden Mossman, JSerra Catholic (CA), 2027
Positional Profile: 3B/RHP Legit 2-way prospect with a powerful swing and whippy sidearm profile off the mound.
Body: 6-2.7, 195-pounds. Bigger and physical body.
Delivery: Lower/ sidearm delivery. Stays upright throughout the delivery and utilizes a lower whippy arm slot.
Arm Action: RH. Traditional arm swing with a lower/ sidearm slot. Funky but repeatable mechanics.
FB: T83, 81-83 mph. Hard throwing, turbo sinker. Moves well with late arm side break. T1818, 1700 average rpm.
SL: 66-66 mph. Bigger SL that slightly pops up out of the hand, lots of horizontal movement.. T1550, 1481 average rpm.
CH: 74-74 mph. Solid feel for the CH. Great fade and has tight depth when thrown glove side. T1393, 1322 average rpm.

Colton Mossman, JSerra Catholic (CA), 2027
Positional Profile: OF/LHP Athletic and strong frame coupled with an above average OF arm, a powerful swing, and a repeatable 3-pitch mix.
Body: 6-3, 189-pounds. Big, physical, and athletic frame.
Delivery: Tall and repeatable mechanics. Stays smooth through release. Front side stays strong and rides the back leg well. Strong lead leg block.
Arm Action: LH. Conventional arm swing with a fairly over the top slot.
FB: T85, 83-85 mph. Has a strong feel for the FB in the zone. Stays behind the pitch well and gets vertical ride. T2012, 1928 average rpm.
CB: 73-74 mph. CB has a late 12-6 movement profile. Spins the ball well to help create that late break. T2347, 2128 average rpm.
CH: 79-81 mph. Well executed CH with both fade and depth. A pitch to neutralize RHHs. T1770, 1635 average rpm.

Diego Ortiz, Los Altos High (CA), 2028
Positional Profile: SS/RHP A real 2-way with a fast swing and clean defensive footwork. High upside player where tools will be more pronounced with added strength and size. Has a 3-pitch for feel in the zone. Each pitch has a purpose and plays off each other.
Body: 5-9.7, 164-pounds. Projectable and proportional frame.
Delivery: Smooth mechanics, rides the slope well, getting into the back leg. Relaxed upper half until front foot strikes where he violently finishes through the catcher. Strides slightly open.
Arm Action: RH. Efficient arm path with a slight glove tap before separation. Higher 3/4 release.
FB: T83, 81-82 mph. A heavy, and lower spin FB with good ride. Not much arm side run, stays behind the FB well to get true backspin. T1957, 1852 average rpm.
CB: 69-70 mph. CB is a tighter pitch that tunnels well off the FB. Has great feel for it in the zone. T2128, 2033 average rpm.
CH: 74-75 mph. CH has low spin which helps the pitch have great depth and fade. A good pitch to play off the FB. T1337, 1257 average rpm.

Eli Rubel, Servite High School (CA), 2027
Positional Profile: C/RHP Legit 2-way prospect with a power swing and power stuff on the mound.
Body: 6-4.1, 214-pounds. Physical build and developed frame.
Delivery: Generates momentum out of the windup and is able to resist the slope by riding the back leg until front foot strike. Lands slightly closed and gets over his lead leg well. Energy is going towards home plate. A more traditional front side, but slightly opens before landing.
Arm Action: RH. Efficient arm path. A circle motion with a glove tap. High 3/4 slot.
FB: T87, 83-86 mph. Heavy fastball with ride. Gets on hitters quick. T2039, 1854 average rpm.
SL: 72-75 mph. Spins the slider well. Tight and late horizontal break. T2334, 2186 average rpm.
SPLT: 76-79 mph. Late downward movement with the SP. Plays off the FB well.

Evan Rudnev, Sage Creek High (CA), 2028
Positional Profile: 3B/RHP Legit 2-way with strong numbers. Consistently looking to do damage in the box paired with smooth but loud feet. Has strong feel for all 4 pitches. Velocity will come with time.
Body: 6-2.1, 219-pounds. Strong and power-based frame, high-upside.
Delivery: Repeatable mechanics with a whippy arm. Stays tall throughout the delivery with a slight drop into the back leg. Opens up slightly before front foot strike. Gets over the lead leg well.
Arm Action: RH. Longer arm backswing, but gets the arm up on time. High 3/4 slot.
FB: T84, 82-84 mph. Spins the FB well and has feel for it in all quadrants of the zone. Slight ride. T2155, 2064 average rpm.
CB: 72-74 mph. CB has a 12/6 movement profile, late break. T2357, 2300 average rpm.
SL: 75-76 mph. Tight gyro SL. Spins it extremely well. Late break, strikeout pitch. T2566, 2439 average rpm.
CH: 78-80 mph. A low spin CH with both depth and fade. Great feel for in the zone. T2091, 1926 average rpm.

Jake Wells, Millikan High (CA), 2027
Positional Profile: RHP/RHP Smooth and then violent mechanics at front foot strike. Heavy FB with ride along with a tight sweepy CB, and a CH with strong depth.
Body: 6-0.1, 191-pounds. Taller and lengthy frame. Room to fill into his body.
Delivery: Mechanics build up slowly and become violent after front foot strike. Shoulders tilt up and he rotates quickly up to down. Lands slightly open, resulting in arm occasionally not being on time.
Arm Action: RH. Longer arm backswing with a slight stab. Releases the ball straight over the top.
FB: T89, 87-89 mph. A heavy FB with solid ride. Lots of body moving can help distract the hitter and allow the FB to play better than it already does. T2090, 1905 average rpm.
CB: 76-79 mph. A sweepy CB with tight horizontal movement. Complements the FB up in the zone. T2070, 2024 average rpm.
CH: 78-80 mph. A low spin CH with more depth than fade. A good quality north/south strikeout pitch. T955, 913 average rpm.
