2026 High School Team Preview: Dutchdown Bulldogs

The 2026 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Georgia.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in the GHSA or GIAA state playoffs, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Georgia. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and by continuing our scheduled podcasts and releasing our preseason top-10 rankings in each GHSA classification and Power 25.

Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week, updating the top-10 ranks in each GHSA classification, as well updating our Power 25 overall rankings. One thing, especially, you don’t want to miss are our scheduled podcasts with guests from across the state, as well as the recaps and previews of the big games we’re covering.

TEAM OUTLOOK

Coach McLendon and the Bulldogs look to push past their 11-16 finish a year ago as they aim to make a postseason appearance in ‘26. Chipola commit and senior SS Devin Kendall leads the way as he brings a plethora of tools to pace the lineup while offering lockdown defense at the 6. 2028 C Kayden Carter held an everyday role this past season and boasts a present feel to hit while yielding a strong defensive makeup as well with plenty of upside in a physical 6-foot frame. 2028 OF Jakobb Mobley gained invaluable experience a year ago as he will look for a jump in production and give consistency to the lineup. 2026 LHP Dylan Bell returns the most innings-pitched from a year ago and provides senior experience at the top of the rotation. A pair of juniors including LHP/1B Ethan Wilson and 2027 OF Cameron Stone gained quality varsity time last year and will be tasked to carry important two-way roles this season. Senior OF Xavier Jackson rounds out the outfield and saw limited time in ‘25 as he is set to take on a larger role. A trio of underclassmen consisting of 2028 OF/1B Geoffrey Ibim, 2029 OF/LHP Kendric Gaines, and 2029 OF/1B Hunter Sims all look to get their feet wet and make an impact as well. This is a young squad that will be ready to roll come February 9th as they compete in a tough region with the likes of Newnan, Northgate, and McIntosh.
