Welcome to the IHSA Daily Roundup, where our Prep Baseball Illinois staff will provide readers with scores, game recaps, and highlights from the games that took place the day before. In conjunction with our comprehensive in-game coverage throughout the 2026 season, we’ll publish this Daily Roundup to keep readers informed on the latest happenings across the state.

We obtain most of our scores by following teams on GameChanger, as well as through MaxPreps and Twitter. Coaches are also able to submit their own team’s box scores to us via email at [email protected], or through our IHSA Submitted Scores form, which they’re able to request by emailing our staff or by sending a us a DM over Twitter. St. Laurence defeated Homewood-Flossmoor 4-1 in a Top 5 matchup. RBI hits came from Tristan Steger (2027; Kentucky Commit, sacrifice fly), Sean Popp (2026; Oakton CC Commit, RBI groundout), Orlando Vazquez (2026; RBI single), and Daniel Coyle (2026; Lewis Commit, RBI groundout). Danny Donovan (2026; Wisconsin-Parkside commit) added a run scored while going 2-for-3. Samuel Chin (2026; Ball State Commit) pitched five strong innings striking out four, giving up only a hit & run, and qualified for the win. Cory Les (2026; Louisville, 2IP, 1H, 0R, 1BB, 2SO) came in relief and finished the game by recording a six-out save without giving up a run.

Chicago Mt. Carmel shut out Central Catholic 11-0. The Caravan offense was led by Anthony Chavez (2026; Illinois Commit), who went 3-for-3 with a double, two singles, a run, and knocking in four RBIs. Joey Ireland (2026; Illinois Commit) had a great day by going 2-for-2 with a triple, single, walk, two runs, and knocking in two RBIs. Other contibutors include TJ McQuillan (2026; Wake Forest Commit, 2-for-2, 2 1B, BB, 3R, RBI), Logan Fernandez (2026; Triton JC Commit, 1-for-2, 3B, HBP, R, RBI), and Mario Medina (2026; Davenport Commit, 1-for-2, 2B, R, RBI). Cylis Rainey (2029) dominated on the hill by completing a four-inning one-hit shutout and striking out nine batters.

Recap

Lincoln-Way East defeated Creek Wood 14-4. The Griffins' offense was led by Evan Riiff (2027; Valparaiso Commit, 2-for-3, 2B, 1B, R) and Rocco Triolo (2027; 1-for-2, three-run HR), who each drove in three RBIs. Evan LeFevour (2028; BB, SF, 2R) and Tyler Hudik (2026; 1-for-2, 2B, R) each drove in two RBIs. Other key players include Casey Mikrut (2027; 2-for-2, 2 1B, 2R, RBI), Matt Safarik (2026; 1-for-2, 1B, SB, R, RBI), Nate Kaminski (2027; BB, R, RBI), and Jack Ingram (2026; Cornell Commit, 1-for-2, 2B, RBI). Colin Bettenhausen (2027) started the game and threw two shutout innings and struck out four batters while only allowing a hit and walk.

Whitney Young 8

Whitney Young took down No. 11 Nazareth Academy 8-4. For the Dolphins, Ryan Pinkert (2026; Swarthmore commit) (HR, 4 RBI) and Marcus Garton (2026) (3-for-5, 2B, RBI) both had strong days at the plate. Reyteng Skotmyr fired three innings with no runs allowed, striking out three with no walks. Gavin Hartigan (2028) led the Roadrunners' offense going 2-for-4 with a double, single, stolen base, a run, and two RBIs. Drew Hyland (2026; Grand Valley State Commit) went 3-for-4 with three singles and an RBI. Todd Dulaney Jr. (2029) knocked in an RBI on his fielder's choice.

Loyola Academy defeated Glenbrook South 8-3. Teddy Kurtzweil (2026) led the Ramblers offense going 1-for-3 with an RBI groundout, single, run, and three RBIs. Anthony Reavy (2026; Milwaukee School of Engineering Commit) went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two runs, and two RBIs. Peter LaFontaine (2026; Milwaukee Area Technical JC Commit) went 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Hayden Harrington (2026; Holy Cross Commit) started the game with two shutout innings and striking out three. Mark Atwood (2027) came in relief and pitched a frame where he struck out one and gave up a walk, unearned run, and no hits. Tommy Mitchell (2026) tossed two scoreless innings striking out one and allowing only a hit and walk.

Marquette shut out Eureka 3-0. The Crusaders' offense got it done early in the first inning. Griffin Dobberstein (2027) and Anthony Couch (2026; Spoon River JC Commit) each hit RBI singles while Braxton Nelle (2027) walked to force in a run. Easton Debernardi (2027) stole two bases in this contest. Alec Novotney (2026; Valparaiso) took the mound and tossed four shutout innings and struck out six batters while only giving up two hits. Griffin Dobberstein threw the last three frames without allowing a hit, walk, and run, and struck out six of the ten batters he faced.

Recap

O'Fallon shut out Neenah 3-0. The Panthers' offense got the job done with some small ball. Luka Freidenberg (2027) hit an RBI single while Liam Decker (2027) hit an RBI groundout. Trey Hrasky (2028) took it the distance and pitched a complete game shutout and struck out five batters.

Sacred Heart-Griffin defeated Springfield Southeast 16-3. The Cyclones' offense was led by Levi Daly (2028), who went 3-for-4 with a double, two singles, stolen base, a run, and four RBIs. Drew Ward (2026; Illinois Wesleyan Commit) had a day on the bases going 1-for-3 with a double, hit by pitch, four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBIs. Carson Butler (2026; Heartland CC Commit) went 2-for-3 with two doubles, hit by pitch, two stolen bases, four runs, and two RBIs. Rowan Mizeur (2026) went 2-for-4 with a double, single, and two RBIs. Other key players include Austin Rutter (2027; 1-for-2, 1B, 2SB, R, RBI), Ty Springer (2026; Lincoln-Land CC, 1-for-1, 3B, R, RBI), Andrew Hofner (1-for-2, 1B, BB, SB, RBI), and Henry Pennell (2027; SB, 3R, RBI). Aidan Vanover tossed all five innings for the Cyclones and struck out five batters and earning the win.

Prairie Ridge defeated Woodstock North 12-2 to improve to 4-1. Colt Zaleski (2027) earned the win on the mound going 4.2 innings, giving up two runs, while striking out seven. Beckett Breseman (2027) led the way for the Wolves going 1-for-1 with four RBI. Gabe Winkelman (2026; Wisconsin- Parkside) tallied a hit, two RBI, and three runs scored.

Southside 6
Lincoln-Way West 4
Recap

Southside took down Lincoln-Way West 6-4. The Panthers were led by Shelby Houston (2027; 2-for-2, HR, 2B, two RBI, two runs scored) and Abe Martin (2026; Gadsden State CC), who went 5.2 innings, allowing four runs, one earned, and striking out three. Jacob Howard (2027) had a day at the plate for Lincoln-Way West, going 3-for-4 with a HR, two 2B, two RBI, and two runs scored.

Recap

IMG Academy took down Ridgewood 11-3. For IMG, Cy Chrisman (2026; Oklahoma State) led the way going 3-for-4 with a HR and four RBI. Yonghoon Lee (2026; Northwestern) added two hits, including a 3B. Kyler Meccage (2027; Mississippi State) looked sharp in relief going two innings, allowing one hit, and striking out four. For the Rebels, Antonio Ciccone was 2-for-2 with a 2B and two RBI.

Reavis 5

Recap

Reavis walked off Seymour in eight innings on Wednesday. Jonathan Liesen (2026; Morton JC) had three hits, including a double, RBI, and run scored. Juan Avila (2026) recorded two hits, a double, two RBIs, and the walkoff single in the bottom of the eight. Aliva also tossed all eight innings allowing three earned runs, one walk, and struck out six.

Allean took down East Moline United 9-1. Truman Marner (2027) earned his first win of the season, firing a complete game (7IP) with four hits allowed, one run and five strikeouts. Will Bower (2026) (2R, 3 SB) and Drew Peterson (2027) (2B, 2 RBI) each had two hits on the day. Eight Different Pioneers collected at least one hit on the day, also going a perfect 10-for-10 in stolen bases. With the win, the Pioneers are now 6-2 on the year and 2-0 in conference.

Glenwood takes a 3-0 win over Lincoln. Michael Lucas (2026; Lincoln Land CC) had two hits, a walk, and an RBI out of the leadoff spot. Dylan Huff (2026; Toledo) doubled, walked, and scored once. RHP Landon Leach (2028) struck out five in four innings of work, securing the win for Glenwood.

Marian Catholic defeated St. Bede 15-11. Jazarris Mackmore Jr. (2027; Illinois- Chicago) and Matt Gonzalez (2026; Lake Land JC) both tallied three hits and three RBI for the Spartans. Chase Boykin (2029) and Jamayas Davis (2028) both collected two hits and three RBI.

Father McGivney Catholic took down Althoff Cathollic 11-0. Ben Sink paced the offense going 3-for-3 with a double, three RBIs, a run scored and two stolen bases. Grant Reed (2B, 3 RBI) and Ty Etheson (2B, 2 RBI, R) both had two hits on the day. Lucas Perich fired four shutout innings with just two hits allowed, striking out two.

St. Rita took down Miami Christian 13-1. Vinny Stubitsch (2B, 4 RBI) and Ryan Jones (RBI, BB) both had two hits on the day. Timmy Swanson chipped in with a single, two RBIs and a sac fly. Greg Zaber collected his first win of the year with three innings pitched, one earned run and two strikeouts.

St. Charles East took down Hillsboro by the score of 11-7. The Saints got a big day from James Feigleson (2026; Illinois-Chicago) who hit two HR and drove in five. Kyle LaRose (2027; 2-for-5, 3B, RBI, two runs scored) and Gavin Fuscone (2026; 2-for-3, RBI, R) also led the Saints to victory. Nathan Moline (2026; Elgin CC) went five innings on the mound, giving up three earned, while striking out eight.

St. Charles North defeated Aurora Christian 16-3. The offense was led by Matt Richie, who went 3-for-4 with a double, single, a two-run home run, a stolen base, two runs, and four RBIs. Mason Netcel (2026; Indiana State Commit) went 2-for-2 with a single, two-run home run, two walks, four runs, and three RBIs. Julian Harmon (2026) went 2-for-2 with two singles, hit by pitch, a run, and two RBIs. Langdon Straub (2026; 2BB, RBI groundout), Charlie Peppeard (2027; 2-for-4, 2 1B, 2SB, 2R, RBI), Cam Chickerneo (2026; RBI groundout, R), and Charlie Major (2026; Elgin CC Commit, 1-for-2, 1B, RBI) each knocked in an RBI. Landon Paul (2027) had a nice two-inning relief appearance striking out two and not allowing a hit and run.

Waubonsie Valley took down Butler 12-7. Jack Roberts (2028; 2-for-4, HR, 4 RBI) and Nate Cerilli (2026; 2-for-4, 4 RBI) led the Warriors' offense. Nathan Napolitano (2026) got the start on the bump and went five innings, giving up two earned runs, while striking out four.

New Albany took down Bartlett 10-6. The Bulldogs had big days from the top two in their order: Braden Brewer (2026; 2-for-3, 3 RBI, 2 R, SB) and Jaylen Wells-Henderson (2027; 3-for-4, 3 RBI, 2 R, 2 SB). Grady Mayfield (2029) got it done on both sides, collecting two hits and two runs scored, while throwing the final two innings, giving up no runs. For the Hawks, Mason Leiterman (2029) tallied two hits and an RBI and Dillon Frost (2026) had two hits of his own, scoring twice.

Hampshire shut out Cooter 12-0. Tyler Rubino (2028; 2-for-4, HR, 2B, 2 RBI, 2 R), Nick Lueders (2026; 2 2B, RBI, 3 R), and Joey Rodriguez (2026; 2-for-3, 2 RBI) all collected two hits. Logan Nawrocki (2027) had a big day going a perfect 3-for-3 with 2 RBI and 3 runs scored. Lucas Prange (2028) dealt for the Whips going 4.2 no hit innings, while striking out seven.
