Today we release a late winter/early spring update to the 2029 class, our first update of the calendar year. This update has the class expanding from the Top 25 to the Top 50. While the majority of this class remains unchanged in terms of movement within, there have been 25 players added during this update. This update highlights some players that we have seen in a variety of settings early on this year, including events, scrimmages, and gameplay. Below we take a look at some of those players that have made jumps, are new faces, or look primed for a big year in 2026.
2029 Rankings Update
+ Ian Choi - RHP - Freedom (South Riding) HS
It is a physical, durable build at 6-foot-3, 194-pounds for a freshman. There is plenty of present talent to go along with what the future can hold for the right-hander. Early on he has shown the arm talent and some feel to pitch. The fastball has been up to 89, settling in the mid to upper eighties. He shows two secondary offerings in a slider and a firm, quality changeup. There is a starter profile with the physical build and the arsenal that he has. He has the stuff to be a power arm, and getting deep into outings will be key for his long-term success.
+ Jack Eastham - 3B - James Madison HS
A compact athlete that gives the potential for a high offensive profile. He has shown the ability to be on barrel and flash some impact. It is above-average bat speed that can hit for extra bases. There is rhythm in the hands with a whippy barrel path through the zone. Defensively he shows good pace and natural hands in the infield. The intangibles that he brings create some excitement for the future.
+ Joseph Hagy - LHP/OF - Liberty Christian Academy
There has been some offensive impact early this spring from Hagy showing some of the future offensive upside. It is a relaxed setup from the left side that uses the whole field with some impact to the pull side. It is more doubles power right now working gap to gap, but there is room for more as he matures. It is a long, lanky frame with lean strength present. It is a corner outfield profile with above average arm strength. While his impact early on has been with the bat, there is some intrigue on the mound as well. The fastball works in the low eighties paired up with a breaking ball. He has shown the ability to be effective in the zone. The two-way profile is intriguing and something to keep an eye on as he continues to mature.

+ Braiden Miller - 3B/RHP - Woodgrove HS
The number 1 player in VA/DC has been impactful for this Woodgrove team to begin the spring. He has been a contributor on the mound, as well as in the middle of the order. It is a physical presence that has above-average bat speed and intriguing power potential. On the mound he shows some polish and the ability to miss bats. He has shown a four-pitch mix that he throws with easy effort. The fastball is in the mid to upper eighties, paired with a curveball and slider for two breaking balls. The changeup is the difference maker. It is firm and has late depth to generate swings and misses. The impact on both sides is why he still holds the number one spot.
