+ HERITAGE ACADEMY VS STARKVILLE ACADEMY

Starkville Academy picked up a 3-1 win over Heritage Academy on Tuesday in a well-pitched matchup. After falling behind early, the Volunteers took control in the fourth inning, capitalizing on a two-run single from Templeton and an error to grab the lead. Burkley set the tone on the mound, allowing just one run over 4.2 innings, while Northcutt was dominant in relief with 2.1 hitless innings to close it out. Mullins led the offense with two hits, and Starkville Academy backed its pitching with a clean defensive effort.

+ STONE VS EAST CENTRAL

Stone picked up a hard-fought 2-1 win over East Central in extra innings on Tuesday. In a pitcher’s duel, both staffs were dominant, with Stone racking up 14 strikeouts. After the teams traded runs in the sixth and seventh, the Tomcats broke through in the 11th on an RBI single from Batson to secure the win. Batson was outstanding on the mound, tossing 9.2 innings with 13 strikeouts, while Danzey closed it out in relief. Obenhaus led the offense with three hits as Stone totaled 12 in the victory.

+ AMORY VS HOUSTON

Houston held off a late push from Amory to secure a 6-5 win on Tuesday. After Amory struck first, Houston responded with a big first inning and built a 6-2 lead through three. Amory battled back and threatened late, but ultimately fell just short despite out-hitting Houston 10-6. Allmond and Minor each drove in two runs for the Panthers, while Holton and Wright collected two hits apiece. Tedder led Houston with two RBIs, and the Hilltoppers applied pressure on the bases with five stolen bases to help hold off the comeback.

+ HERNANDO VS DESOTO CENTRAL

Hernando picked up an 8-6 win over DeSoto Central on Tuesday behind a strong offensive performance. The Tigers jumped out early and built a lead, but DeSoto Central battled back to tie it in the third before Hernando responded with a four-run sixth to regain control. Gregg led the way with a perfect 3-for-3 day, including a triple, while Kozcka added two RBIs. Lawson earned the win on the mound, and Herman secured the save as Hernando totaled nine hits in the victory.

+ OXFORD VS STARKVILLE

Oxford picked up a 6-4 win over Starkville on Tuesday in a back-and-forth matchup. After the teams traded runs early, Oxford broke the tie for good in the sixth inning with a two-run double from Wade, who finished with three RBIs. Huggins and Overby each added two hits as the Chargers totaled solid production throughout the lineup. Ferguson earned the win with three hitless innings in relief, while Pinkins secured the save. Starkville showed patience at the plate with eight walks and six stolen bases but couldn’t overcome Oxford’s late surge.
