NOTABLE RECAPS FROM MONDAY

T.C. Roberson (3) vs. #1 American Fork (9)

The American Fork Cavemen displayed their offensive firepower and a lockdown relief effort to secure a commanding 9–3 victory over T.C. Roberson (North Carolina). The Cavemen wasted no time making their presence felt at the plate, racking up 11 hits including a series of extra-base blows. Gavin Robinson was the catalyst for the attack, finishing with three hits and two doubles, while TY Holmstead sparked the lineup from the top with a triple and two runs scored. On the mound, Holmstead earned the win with four solid innings before handed the ball to Bode Gaggero, who was spectacular in relief, tossing three hitless innings to completely shut down any hope of a comeback. T.C. Roberson found some early life behind Kaegan Radford, who drove in all three of the team's runs, but they ultimately struggled to keep pace with American Fork’s relentless production. The Cavemen's defensive poise and ability to capitalize on scoring opportunities ensured they maintained control throughout this high-energy contest.

Top Performers

Cottonwood (1) vs. Timpview (2)

The Timpview T-Birds outlasted Cottonwood in a classic extra-inning defensive struggle, securing a gritty 2–1 walk-off victory in the eighth inning. In a game dominated by spectacular pitching on both sides, Timpview finally found the opening they needed late, capitalized on by Will Cannon, who drove in a crucial run to seal the win. Cole Engemann was a titan for the T-Birds, matching his brilliance on the mound—tossing seven innings of one-run ball—with a perfect 3-for-3 day at the plate. Cottonwood countered with a masterpiece of their own from Zane Wayman, who went the distance with a staggering 12 strikeouts over seven frames. Despite the Colts’ defensive focus and a double from Kingston Griffin, Timpview’s late-inning poise and Engemann's two-way dominance allowed the T-Birds to escape with the hard-fought home win in a true pitcher's duel.

Top Performers

#21 Herriman (3) vs. Sierra Vista (2)

The Herriman Mustangs leaned on a brilliant starting performance and timely situational hitting to grind out a 3–2 victory over the Sierra Vista Mountain Lions. In a game where runs were at a premium, the Mustangs found the decisive edge in the middle innings, highlighted by Cameron Pettitt, who delivered a clutch triple to spark the offense. On the mound, Talen Mietchen was the story of the day, navigating through seven Sierra Vista hits to allow just one earned run over six masterful innings. Sierra Vista played with high-level competitive energy, led by Kyler Meleski, who tallied two hits and an RBI, and a strong relief effort from Kai Huffman, who kept the Mustangs at bay for nearly five innings. While the Mountain Lions threatened late and showcased their speed with four stolen bases, Herriman's defensive poise and Hunter Miller’s perfect seventh inning ensured the Mustangs walked away with the hard-fought home win.

Top Performers

Deseret Peak (3) vs. Murray (4)

The Murray High Spartans displayed incredible late-game grit to overcome the Deseret Peak Varsity Golden Eagles in a dramatic 4–3 extra-inning victory. In a classic pitcher's duel that turned into a battle of endurance, the Spartans found their spark in the bottom of the eighth, capitalizing on patient at-bats and clutch situational hitting. Baylor Chappell led the charge for Murray, driving in two critical runs, while Austin Lunt provided a constant threat with two hits, including a double. On the mound, the Spartans received a stellar relief performance from Hayden Mount, who threw over three innings of one-hit ball to earn the win and silence the Golden Eagles' bats in the closing frames. Deseret Peak played with immense heart, receiving a strong seven-inning start from Davis Hodge, who struck out six, and an offensive boost from Saul Brito, who tripled. Despite the Golden Eagles' defensive focus and consistent pressure, Murray’s late-game poise and ability to execute in high-leverage moments allowed them to walk away with the hard-fought home win.
