+ RHP Owen Borkowski (Huntley, 2027): Lean and athletic 6-foot-2, 169-pound frame, holds plenty of room to add strength. The right-hander delivers his arsenal from a deceptive low release height, working with a controlled leg-lift into a higher balance point before transitioning into a drop/drive lower-half that stays in-line. The fastball played at 88-89 mph with 2,398 rpm on average, showing ride/run traits through the zone. He has a knack to spin the slider, averaging over 2,400 rpm with heavy sweeping action (T-22.1” HM), 71-73 mph). He also showed a sinker with much lower IVB than the four-seam and slightly more arm-side run, killing spin a bit at 87-89 mph.

+ RHP Graydon Leonard (Gibson City-Melvin Sibley, 2027): 6-foot-2, 181-pounds, athletic build with room to add strength. Also a standout three-sport athlete, the right-hander has a fluid and fast arm with a simple delivery that works slightly across his body, creating some deception before moving into a lower ¾ slot. The fastball sat 89-90 mph with carry through the zone and a lower release height. He went to a slider/changeup mix for his off-speed, with the slider spinning over 2,400 rpm at times with a shorter wrinkle and some sweep, while the changeup looks to have heavy fade to the arm-side with over 17” of run at times, 83-84 mph. He’s made some significant jumps over the last half year, up nearly five mph on the fastball, and it’s easy to dream on the three-sport athlete as he continues to focus more on baseball.

+ RHP Noah Hallahan (Geneva, 2027): Physical 6-foot, 201-pound frame, proportionate strength with broad shoulders. The right-hander worked exclusively out of the stretch with a shorter leg-lift and a tuck into balance point, working into a tall/fall lower-half downhill. The arm action works with a full circle from the glove into a ¾ slot with quickness out front. The fastball played in the 91-92 mph range with some finish through the zone, setting up a slider he landed in the zone 100% of the time per TrackMan, showing short 10/4 shape at 76-77 mph. His changeup is a serviceable third offering with heavy arm-side run, showing developing command of it, 82-83 mph.

+ RHP Cole Ruggeri (Waubonsie Valley, 2027; Missouri commit): 6-foot-2, 182-pound frame, lean and highly projectable with an athletic build. The right-hander has a long reach out of the glove and on the backside before moving through with a ¾ slot. He’s a stretch-only worker, using a tall/fall operation to get down the mound in-line. The fastball has clear life out of the hand at 92-93 mph, running heavily to the arm-side (T21.2” HM). His slider has wipeout potential with dynamic break off a 10/4 plane, flashing feel in the zone at 81-82 mph. His changeup is another quality offering that could be a real weapon with refined control, showing heavy arm-side fade life the fastball at 80-82 mph.

+ RHP Colin Giles (St Ignatius, 2027): 6-foot-5, 185-pound frame, highly projectable with long levers and room to add strength. The right-hander worked out of the stretch only with a medium leg-lift into balance point, moving down the slope with a tall/fall lower-half. The arm plays loose out of the glove into a ¾ slot, producing a fastball in the 87-90 mph range with heavy natural run (T21.7” HM). He flashed feel for his curveball at 74-78 mph, showing some 10/4 shape with over 2,400 rpm at times. The feel for the changeup was scattered in this look, but it has quality action with 0.5” IVB on average and up to 20” of run.

+ RHP Liam Decker (O’Fallon, 2027): 6-foot, 175-pound frame, projectable with room to add strength. The right-hander utilizes a hybrid windup with a small leg-lift and coil into balance point, riding a tall/fall lower-half down the mound before moving into a clean ¾ slot. The fastball played 88-89 mph in this look with some carry through the zone and feel for strikes. He can spin the breaking ball at an above-average clip, spinning his curveball over 2,500 rpm on occasion with big sweeping action, 70-72 mph. The changeup showed similar shape to the fastball with over 20” of run, 80-82 mph and flashed strikes.

+ LHP Jimmy Benson (St. Laurence, 2027; Texas Christian commit): 6-foot-8, 227-pound frame, long-levers with plenty more room to add strength. The southpaw gives a deceptive look with a low release, hiding it on the backside and moving quickly downhill. The fastball sat in the 82-86 mph range, showing natural running action through the zone that consistently generates whiffs in-game. The slider showed big sweeping shape with scattered feel, 74-76 mph - while the changeup also showed developing feel in the 76-79 mph range, showing heavy arm-side fade. Extremely high ceiling and in-game performer that is a tough look for any opposing hitter.

Zion), RHP Logan Mackin (Minooka), RHP Jackson Heinlen (Lincoln-Way West), RHP Charlie Caroselli (Providence Catholic), RHP Aiden Gallucci (Rolling Meadows) and RHP Michael Garner (Willowbrook) are some more arms from the day that deserve a mention and a follow.
