The Arkansas high school baseball season kicks off on Mar. 2, opening day for regular season action under AAA regulations. Leading up to opening day, we’ll be publishing our team previews ahead of the 2026 spring season, touching on programs spanning all state classifications, counting down to the official Prep Baseball Arkansas Preseason Power 25 Rankings.

Perennially, we’ve submitted a preseason questionnaire to high school head coaches across the entire state. Their responses have been flooding in and we’re using the detailed insight they’ve provided in our team-by-team preseason analysis.

2026 SEASON OUTLOOK

Top Returners:

  • Clayton Ballard (2027) - P/UTL, 6'0 190, L/L
    • Work horse on the mound with electric stuff. Can sting the baseball from the left side of the plate for average and power. Impressive leadership ability & competitor.
  • Bow Clifton (2027) - INF/P, 5'10 195, R/R
    • Hard-nosed ball player with pop from the right side of the plate. Tough as nails. Competitor.
  • Caleb Headley (2026) - INF/P, 5'11 160, R/R
    • Good barrel control/bat to ball skills. Versatile player.

Top Newcomers:

  • Cooper Handly (2027) - P/UTL, 6'5 175, L/L
    • Loose LHP with solid stuff & feel. Hard worker & solid hands as a defender.
  • Brayden Walmsley (2027) - INF/P, 6'3 200, R/R 
    • Athletic & agile for size. Solid defender with pop from the right side.

Key Players Lost:
