2026 OKC Summer ID: Quick Hits

On Tuesday, June 30th, the Prep Baseball Oklahoma staff traveled to the campus of the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, OK to host the annual OKC Summer ID. This event was open for 2027-2030 class members, and featured 40+ players from across the state.

All of our events offer players the opportunity to update their recruiting resume and showcase their talents in front of our staff. We also use these events as identifiers for future invite-only events, like the Preseason All-State, our summer Top Prospect Games, and the prestigious Prep Baseball Future Games that takes place at the tail end of the summer. Shortly after the event, our staff compiled several of the day’s stat leaders inside our traditional ‘Stat Story’, which you can find HERE.

Today, after combing through our notes from the day, we’ve compiled some of the event’s standouts below within these ‘Quick Hits’.

Kalen Clift SS / C / Weatherford, OK / 2028

An intriguing two-way prospect with nice tools both on the mound and as a position player, INF/RHP Kalen Clift (Weatherford, 2028) put together an impressive showing at the OKC Summer ID. At the plate, he ran his exit velocities up to 93.4 mph, with a max distance of 332 feet and an impressive sweet spot percentage of 69%. Defensively, Clift’s best tool is his arm strength, tossing it across the diamond at 84 mph. The arm translates well to the mound, where we had his fastball up to 86.3 mph, good for the top number of the event. Clift works off the fastball with a pair of offspeed offerings, an upper 70s changeup and a mid 70s slider with nice short and sharp glove side action.

Hunter Hargis 3B / RHP / Weatherford, OK / 2028

With a long, projectable frame at 6’1 160 lbs, OF/RHP Hunter Hargis (Weatherford, 2028) profiles as someone to watch this summer as a high-upside prospect both on the mound and in the outfield. Hargis began the day with a solid 60-yard dash time, running a 7.04 on the lasers. Defensively, Hargis had clean actions in the outfield, with nice arm strength tossing it in at 81 mph. Hopping on the mound to close out his workout, Hargis showcased an impressive four-pitch mix with some present tools. The fastball worked up to 85.3 mph, settling in at 82-84, with plenty of life at the top of the zone at an average IVB of 18. The arsenal also features two distinct breaking balls, a 2,300 rpm slider with a flatter east-west movement profile and a curveball that gets more depth and comes in about 3-4 mph slower than the slider. He utilizes a changeup as the fourth pitch, killing spin really well and commanding it in the zone with some consistency.

Cadence Smith OF / RHP / Putnam City West, OK / 2028

Putting himself on the map as one of the best raw athletes we saw at UCO, OF/RHP Cadence Smith (Putnam City West, 2028) was impressive all around and is full of upside as he continues to grow and add strength. Smith started things off with an eye-catching 6.80 60-yard dash, flashing the athleticism that would continue to be evident throughout the rest of his workout, particularly in the outfield where he looked comfortable and showcased nice arm strength, running his velocity up to 84 mph. At the dish, he ran his EVs into the low 90s, boasting a solid hard hit percentage of 16.7% and a max distance of 320 feet. Once he jumped on the mound, the rising junior utilized a three-pitch arsenal with a fastball that topped out at 84.5 as the primary offering. He worked off the heater with a pair of breaking balls that he spun extremely well, at ~2,400 and ~2,500 rpm respectively.

Sean Snellings LHP / OF / Hollis HS, OK / 2028

One of the biggest winners coming out of the OKC Summer ID, LHP/OF Sean Snellings (Hollis, 2028) showcased an exciting blend of present tools to go along with high projectability and upside as he adds more strength to his 6’0 163 lbs frame. On the mound, Snellings ran a high spin (2,493 max RPM) fastball up to 83.7 mph, settling in at 81-83 mph. He utilizes a curveball with a sharp, short shape and a hard changeup with fade as his offspeed offerings. At the plate, he put up the fourth best max EV of the day at 95.2 mph, as well as the second best average EV of the day at 88.8 mph. The arm strength evident on the mound translates well to the outfield, where he tied for the best outfield velocity of the day, tossing it around at 87 mph.
