FROM MONDAY (3.2.26)

+ KOSCIUSKO VS. NEW HOPE

New Hope stormed back from a five-run deficit to edge Kosciusko 7-6 on Monday, fueled by a big night from Elmore. Trailing 5-0 in the fourth, the Trojans chipped away before Elmore delivered the turning point, a three-run homer to right in the fifth after doubling home a run earlier in the game. He finished with four RBIs to lead the comeback effort. Hall added a go-ahead solo shot in the sixth, and despite Kosciusko tying the game in the seventh, New Hope’s bullpen trio of Edmiston, Moore, and Hollis shut the door late. Kosciusko collected multiple hits from Schuler, Kuhn, and Truss, but the Trojans’ resilience proved to be the difference in the one-run win.

+ LAMAR VS. ST. ANDREW'S EPISCOPAL

Lamar defeated St. Andrew’s Episcopal 6-4 on Monday at Trustmark Park. Haarala’s two-run single in the second gave the Raiders an early lead, and Whitcomb turned in a strong outing, tossing six innings while allowing just three hits and two unearned runs with eight strikeouts. Lamar racked up 12 hits in the win, with Reed and Lee collecting three each. St. Andrew’s Episcopal was led by Myrick’s two RBIs, but Lamar’s balanced offense and steady pitching secured the victory.

+ MRA VS. OXFORD

Oxford defeated Madison-Ridgeland Academy 4-2 on Monday, scoring three times in the sixth to secure the win. Wade tied the game in the first with an RBI single, and after MRA regained the lead in the fifth, Oxford responded in the sixth with run-scoring plays from Pinkins and Overby. Ferguson earned the win in relief, allowing one run over 3.2 innings, while Pinkins set the tone early in his start. Bizot and Taylor each had two hits for MRA, but Oxford’s timely hitting and clean defense proved to be the difference.

+ NORTHEAST JONES VS. MIZE

Mize rallied from an early 4-0 deficit to defeat Northeast Jones 7-6 in walk-off fashion Monday, winning it in the eighth on Himmel’s RBI single. Northeast Jones struck early with a two-run homer from McBride and a two-run single from Dement, but Mize answered in the third and eventually tied it again in the fifth. Carrell delivered three scoreless innings in relief to keep Mize in it, and Magee earned the win after striking out seven over five innings. Himmel collected two hits and stole three bases, while Dement drove in three for Northeast Jones in the loss.

+ TRI-COUNTY ACADEMY VS. FLORENCE

Tri-County Academy defeated Florence 4-0 on Monday behind a dominant outing from Albritton. He tossed five no-hit innings with 10 strikeouts to earn the win and also drove in two runs at the plate. Tri-County broke through in the third inning capitalizing on an error and an RBI single from Albritton. Florence drew six walks and stole four bases but managed just one hit in the loss.
