FROM THURSDAY (2.20.26)
+ NETTLETON VS. NORTH PONTOTOC
North Pontotoc picked up a 5-3 win over Nettleton on Friday at the Amory Tournament, using a big third inning to take control. After Nettleton scored first, the Vikings answered with four runs in the third, highlighted by Kentner’s three-run triple. Kentner also earned the win on the mound, allowing one run over four innings while striking out six. North Pontotoc played clean defense and added pressure on the bases as it now prepares to face Amory on Saturday.
+ WEST POINT VS. BELMONT
Belmont edged West Point 3-2 on Friday in a tightly contested pitching duel. The Cardinals scored early and reclaimed the lead in the third on Pharr’s RBI single, then held on behind strong work from Myers and the bullpen. Myers earned the win, while Searcy and Pharr combined to close it out. Belmont added pressure on the bases with four stolen bags and now turns its attention to a matchup with Baldwyn on Saturday.
+ PICAYUNE VS. BAY
Picayune blanked Bay 3-0 on Friday behind a combined shutout from Blevins and Stockstill. Blevins set the tone with five hitless innings and seven strikeouts, while Stockstill closed it out with two scoreless frames. The Maroon Tide scored all three runs in the third inning, highlighted by Moran’s two-run double, and played clean defense to secure the win. Picayune now returns home to face Pass Christian on Tuesday.
+ MADISON-RIDGELAND ACADEMY VS. JACKSON ACADEMY
Madison-Ridgeland Academy held on for a 4-3 win over Jackson Academy on Friday, building an early lead and surviving a late push. The Patriots jumped ahead in the first on Lambert’s two-run home run and added insurance in the second. Jackson Academy chipped away late, but Taylor earned the win on the mound and Varnell closed it out to secure the victory. Lambert led MRA offensively with two RBIs as the Patriots now prepare to face Columbia Academy on Saturday.
+ HERNANDO VS. BILOXI
Hernando broke the game open with an eight-run fifth inning to pull away for a 13-5 win over Biloxi on Friday. The Tigers also jumped out early with a four-run first and never looked back, finishing with 12 hits on the night. Gregg, Lipe, and Westmoreland each drove in three runs, while McBride earned the win on the mound. Hernando added pressure on the bases with six stolen bags and now heads to Corinth for its next matchup on Saturday.
