2026 NJ Preseason ID: North: Quick Hits

On Saturday, February 15th, our staff hosted the annual 2026 NJ Preseason ID: North at Sports Domain Academy in Clifton, NJ. Around 45 players made it out to this event, providing us with updated looks and a new list of players to follow in New Jersey, as well as a few players from just over the New York and Pennsylvania border.
We begin our post-event content today with our quick hits from the event, highlighting some of the notable players from the day and their numbers.

POSITION PLAYERS
+ C Julian Martinez (The Stony Brook, 2028, NY):
The No. 2 player in NY and No. 10 C in the country showcased why he is so highly touted. Defensively, Martinez showed off a lightning quick catch-and-throw with a pop time as low as 1.80 seconds. At the plate, he put together one of the most well-rounded BP rounds with barrel after barrel utilizing his mature, highly efficient swing. The right-hander peaked at 100 mph EV with average EV of 93 and max distance of 377’.
+ OF Colin Raymond (The Stony Brook, 2028, NY):
Stands at a staggering 6-foot, 207-pound frame with an advanced muscular build. Raymond started off his day with the event’s second quickest 60-yard dash time at 6.82 and peaked at 20.3 mph sprint speed. During batting practice, he showed off his speed and twitch with advanced bat and hand speeds, peaking his EV at 102.2 mph and averaged 92 mph. Will be a must watch player, currently ranked 3rd in New York.
+ OF Justin Brown (Passaic Tech, 2027):
The North Jersey product ran the event’s quickest 60-yard dash at a blazing 6.68 seconds and peaked at 21.1 mph sprint speed. Brown then brought that athleticism into the batter’s box with a wiry, twitch-filled swing that produced line-drive after line-drive through the middle of the field, topping out at 98 mph EV.
+ 3B Frankie Juliano (Passaic Tech, 2027):
The muscular framed, 5-foot-11 and 213-pound third baseman put together an effortless power display. Juliano displayed a calm, balanced swing that produced a 103.3 mph max exit velocity and a max distance of 396 feet while averaging 71.5 mph bat speed.
+ SS Kameron Fiorani (Cumberland Regional, 2027):
Fiorani was a standout player from South Jersey that put together a well-rounded offensive and defensive performance. The shortstop has an athletic frame with present strength in his lower half. At the plate he was constantly on the barrel while displaying his bat speed (72 mph avg) and barrel awareness, peaking his EV at 98 mph with an average of 90 mph. In the field, flashed some lateral quickness and arm strength that peaked at 82 mph.
+ OF Jack Spitaleri (Glen Rock, 2028):
Spitaleri is quickly becoming one of the Garden State’s top bats in the 2028 class. The physical left-handed hitter has put together multiple impressive offensive displays this preseason in front of the Prep Baseball New Jersey crew. Spitaleri has a swing that flies through the zone and compresses the baseball at contact. He can truly swing it with the best of them. Touched 101 mph with an average of 93 mph and a max distance of 402’ at the event.
+ C Casey Kucerka (Ridge, 2027):
Kucerka had a loud day at the office putting up some serious numbers at the plate and defensively. He consistently elevated the baseball with power at 100.9 mph and peaked at 400’ with a strong, compact swing. Defensively, he popped a quick 1.96-2.09 with a peak arm strength of 77 mph.
+ MIF Rylan Jarmon (Germantown Academy, PA, 2027):
Jarmon made his first Prep Baseball appearance in almost 3 years and looks the part of a middle-infielder that will be very sought after this summer. The uber athletic middle-infielder from Pennsylvania ran a 6.87 60-yard dash and the event’s second fastest max sprint speed of 20.7 mph. To go alongside Rylan’s 5-foot-9, 160-pound frame he produced a loud peak exit velocity of 98.5 mph. Pound-for-pound one of the event’s top hitters and put together one of the top batting practices.
+ OF Frank Morano (DePaul Catholic, 2028):
Morano has a physical 5-foot-10, 177-pound frame with present athleticism and fluidity throughout his swing. The sweet-swinging left-handed hitting first baseman generates power through his back hip rotation. Peaked at 97.5 mph EV with a loud 94.5 mph avg. EV. Morano has a calm demeanor in the box with a slow and controlled load.
+ John Galka (DePaul Catholic, 2027):
Galka put together an all-around performance with the glove and bat. At the plate, he generates speed through the zone with his quick and loose wrists, had a max EV of 96 mph. With the glove, Galka had the defensive showing that included throws right on the money to second base. He led the event in catcher arm strength at 78 mph.
TWO-WAY PLAYERS
+ 3B/RHP Josh Diaz (The Stony Brook, NY, 2028):
Another talented player from New York that made the trip south to North Jersey, Diaz is the 6th ranked player in New York’s 2028 class. The two-way prospect showcased his smooth, natural movement patterns on both sides of the baseball. Diaz has a fluid, easy swing at the plate that creates effortless pop at the plate, recorded EVs up to 99 mph with an average of 92 mph.. On the mound, he showcased an athletic arm action that popped the catcher’s mitt, running the fastball up to 86 mph.
+ 3B/RHP Jack Byers (Middletown North, 2029):
Byers possesses an intriguing combination of projectability and current production with the bat and arm. He has a lean frame of 5-foot-11 and 162-pounds and moves very well displaying his athleticism and natural movement patterns. He produced an impressive exit velocity of 93 mph and topped 81.8 mph from the mound. Will be a player to follow as he continues to physically develop.
PITCHERS
+ RHP Collin Joy (The Stony Brook, NY, 2028):
Joy was a top performing pitcher that showcased a three-pitch mix with good feel for the strike zone. 6-foot-1, 207-pound starting pitcher’s frame that moves well down the slope. His fastball had up to 19 inches of horizontal movement and sat 84-86 mph. His slider had shorter, late break that can be a put-away pitch with 2250+ rpm.
+ RHP Max Stalb (Pascack Valley, 2027):
Stalb was a standout arm at the NJ Preseason ID: North. His intriguing combination of size and arm speed make for him to be a must see right-handed pitcher this high school season. The 6-foot-5 right-hander pounded the strike zone with all three pitches in his arsenal. The fastball sat 87-88 mph T98.2 mph with an average of 13 in. of HM, flashes a CB in the low-70s and a changeup in the mid-70s with sinking action.
