2026 MIAA A Conference: Preseason All-Conference Team

Staff
Prep Baseball Maryland

As the MIAA "A" Conference kicks off the 2026 season, we break down key players throughout the Conference and designed our own Preseason All-Conference Team. The MIAA "A" Conference contains some of the most talented and high octane athletes across the Old Line State, and we as a Prep Baseball Maryland staff cannot wait to utilize our boots-on-the-ground approach to scouting throughout the 2026 Spring season.
This list is comprised of two catcher positions, four infield positions, three outfield positions, one utility position, two two-way positions, and five pitchers. We have also nominated three individual preseason awards, including "Newcomer of the Year", "Player of the Year", and "Pitcher of the Year.

Newcomer of the Year - 2028 Jason Marll (Archbishop Spalding)

Jason Marll Jr 3B / OF / Archbishop Spalding, MD / 2028

This was a tough decision amongst our staff, as there are a plethora of options and avenues we could’ve gone down with this pick. In our eyes, the “Newcomer of the Year” is a player that either had no impact on varsity last year, or a player that played a limited role that looks to have a much larger impact in 2026. We decided to go with the latter, as the number one 2028 in Maryland is set to build off of limited experience with Archbishop Spalding as a freshman, and looks to be an immediate impact bat in the middle of an already potent lineup.

Possessing a physically advanced 6-foot-1, 195-pound frame, Marll is one of the more gifted young hitters this state has to offer, and look for his stock to sky-rocket following what should be a standout sophomore campaign. Present doubles power that should see some uptick this spring, Marll possesses a really nice combination of high contact and power that translates to an impact high-average bat.

The 2026 campaign is huge for Marll, as it is for the entire 2028 class, and look for a strong spring with Spalding lead into a summer gauntlet that plenty of college coaches are anticipating. Spalding has a ton of talent throughout this lineup, and our staff sees Marll being a vital piece of the Cavaliers success throughout MIAA play.

Pitcher of the Year - Virginia commit Pierce Quinn (John Carroll)

Pierce Quinn RHP / OF / John Carroll, MD / 2026

The MIAA has always produced top-end arms, and nothing is new in 2026. Any number of pitchers can take home this award following the season, however, the front-runner for the time being is the University of Virginia commit. A 2024 Future Gamer and 2026 Super 60 participant, Quinn has made his name known on a national scale, and look for the big right-hander to make the most of his opportunities this spring.

Featuring the most electric fastball in the state, Quinn runs the heater into the mid 90s and look for that number to tick up as the warm weather hits the Old Line State. An arm that John Carroll will rely on heavily this spring, Quinn looks to put this staff on his back and be one of the more dominant No. 1’s that the conference has to offer.

If Quinn dominates offenses like the ability allows, the draft stock will quickly rise throughout this spring. An arm that has everybody on the edge of their seats, we can’t wait to see the numbers that he puts up this spring.

Player of the Year - East Carolina commit Braeden Martin (Archbishop Spalding)

Braeden Martin SS / Archbishop Spalding, MD / 2026

Mr. Consistent. That’s a perfect way to describe Braeden Martin, and the left-handed hitting shortstop is poised for what should be a special spring in 2026. The “Player of the Year” is a player who not only puts up numbers offensively, but also finds a way to impact in all facets, and that encompasses Martin to a T.

A staple for this Archbishop Spalding team, look for Martin to be the table-setter for this high-powered offense and a lockdown defender up the middle. A high-average, line drive type hitter, look for the doubles power to tick up this spring and be a lethal top of the order bat that Coach Palumbo can rely on consistently all spring long.

If Spalding makes a run in 2026, which our staff believes they will, Martin will need to have a big season in all facets. A player that can steal bases, hit for a high average and play lockdown defense up the middle, the East Carolina commit in our eyes, is the front-runner of taking home the “Player of the Year” award.
