February 18, 2026
The Oklahoma high school baseball season kicks off on Feb. 23 for classes A and B and Mar. 1 for classes 2A-6A, opening day for regular season action under OSSAA regulations. Leading up to opening day, we’ll be publishing our team previews ahead of the 2025 spring season, touching on programs spanning all state classifications, counting down to the official Prep Baseball Oklahoma Preseason Power 25 Rankings.
Perennially, we’ve submitted a preseason questionnaire to high school head coaches across the entire state. Their responses have been flooding in and we’re using the detailed insight they’ve provided in our team-by-team preseason analysis.

Coach’s Insight: “I think our pitching and defense has always been our strength and will be again. We have to become a more consistent and complete offensive team especially against championship level pitching.” – Kevin Winterrowd, head coach
Outlook: Mount St. Mary returns a bulk of their lineup and rotation from a season ago and appear primed to make a run for a state title in highly competitive 4A. Offensively, they are built on being a balanced lineup that consistently churns out quality ABs, execute at a high level, and ultimately get into opposing teams' bullpen. Further, they have athleticism that will give them opportunities to pressure teams on the bases and win close games down the stretch. On the mound, they return a district tandem that will be one of the tops in 4A and attack opposing hitters over the white pitching to their above average defense. All around the diamond, the Rockets have versatility with guys that can play multiple spots and will allow them to mix and match depending on who is on the mound. Mount St. Mary is a squad to keep a close eye on in 2026 with veteran leadership returning, a steady district rotation, and the potential to be one of the more complete offenses in 4A.
