As we look back on the 2025 summer tournament circuit here in Kansas City, we’ll be breaking down the top players by tool from each class based on evaluations from our scouting team at Homefield and Creekside. Follow along as we take a deep dive into these players and highlight the summers they put together. Each week will feature our top five players based on each tool from the class, presented in no particular order.

Top Off-Speed Class of 2027

Dylan Eikenbary LHP / 1B / Piper, KS / 2027

Eikenbary is one of the most intriguing players in the 2027 Kansas class. A two-way prospect, he projects as an impact left-handed starter at the next level. The Piper LHP features a mid-80s fastball and a quality slider that consistently keeps hitters off balance. He was a must-watch on the mound at our tournaments this summer, piling up strikeouts.

Eikenbary’s slider is one of the best in the class, a true out pitch that he commands extremely well. The pitch spins around 2,500 RPM on average and has been as high as 2,800. The velocity separation between his slider and fastball helps the heater play up, and he’ll pitch backward at times to set up stronger hitters. The slider shows an average of 13 inches of horizontal movement with roughly -2 inches of vertical break. We’ll be watching closely to see what his junior season brings on the mound.
