The Georgia Scout Blog will be a weekly blog with reports and videos from the players and teams that we go out to cover each week. The blog will remain for the length of the week with notes being added the day following from each game. At the end of the week we will update the POWER 25 and CLASSIFICATION RANKINGS, then at the beginning of the following week we will announce Player of the Week awards, along with our Diamond Notes, which is a culmination of all players that were not selected for player of the week.

Mikey Ramsey, RHP, 2026, IMG Academy (FL)
It was an explosive performance in an early season matchup between two Top-10 nationally ranked teams. After allowing a couple earned runs in the first, the uncommitted RHP dialed in and proceeded to punch out 7 straight while showing an eye-opening mix. While working from a tough over-the-top slot, Ramsey lived off the fastball at 90-92 with huge carry through the zone. Showed ability to generate S/M at will when he elevated and the late hop in-zone made it nearly to get the barrel on-plane. Slider was a weapon in the low-80s with innate ability to spin (2700+ RPM) and late snap that was tough on RHH. Flashed the mid-to-high 70s CB and Changeup tunnels well off the fastball with some late fade. It’s a compact 5-foot-11, 180-pound frame with athleticism and there’s legit stuff in the profile that could make Ramsey one of the more sought-after uncommitted arms left in the 2026 class.

Hank Drew, C, 2028, Lowndes
The progression for Drew into one of the top catchers in Georgia’s sophomore class has been rapid and the ceiling continues to grow. The high-waisted 6-foot-2 frame has grown significantly over the last year while getting stronger throughout the profile. Bat-to-ball skills stood out all weekend long, showing the ability to manipulate the barrel in-zone and spoil good pitching consistently. Shows an all-fields approach with an impressive ability to create leverage backside. Behind the plate, Drew shows flexibility in the crouch with advanced blocking and receiving continues to take strides. Arm strength plays up with accuracy and the entire defensive profile could be above-average at peak. You add in big-league bloodlines and it’s hard not to be in on the ceiling for Drew with a high-floor to match.

Cy Chrisman, 3B, 2026, IMG Academy (FL)
Unquestionably, Chrisman has some of the more prestigious power in the 2026 class, but showed an advanced feel to hit all weekend that only furthers the batted-ball profile. A physical presence at 6-foot-4, 220-pounds, the Oklahoma State commit utilizes a simple, quick trigger at the plate with great hands in-zone and present barrel accuracy. Hammered balls to the pull-side all weekend long, capping it with a 3-hit performance but it may have been the 2k approach that was the most impressive. Spreads the base out while shortening the swing and becomes impossible to beat in-zone while still getting to the barrel frequently. Tools can allow Chrisman to stick at the hot corner at the next level with strong lateral actions and flexibility paired with present above-average to plus arm strength. Power across the profile for Chrisman and could be in-line to be seen by important people all spring long.
