La Mirada Preseason All-State: Infielder Analysis

On January 3rd, the Prep Baseball California team hosted the La Mirada Preseason All-State at La Mirada High School in La Mirada, Cal. This was an invite-only event for high school classes (2026-2029), and gave our staff an ample look at the state's top prospects.

Today, we will we’re taking a look at all of the infielders from the event, with a Top-10 ranking from the day:
TOP-10 INFIELDERS
1. Mason Park, Fullerton Union High (CA), 2027
Positional Profile: SS/2B High-quality MIF with defensive feel and impactful offensive upside.
Body: 5-9.0, 171-pounds. Compact, well-built frame with lean strength and physical presence packed into his build.
Hit: RHH. Stable, balanced base with subtle knee flex and an elevated barrel angle. Back elbow works away from the body as he initiates an inward leg lift to gather. Hands work with slight extension before accelerating through the zone, creating a longer barrel path with intent. Upper half plays a significant role in the swing, while the lower half provides balance and stability. Produces loud contact with the ability to drive the ball gap-to-gap. 74.7 mph bat speed with 11g of rotational acceleration.
Power: 95 mph max exit velocity (84.4 avg.); 354-foot max batted distance.
Arm: RH. INF - 88 mph. Fast, clean arm stroke from a three-quarter slot with minimal effort. Ball jumps out of the hand with carry and accuracy.
Defense: Plays with urgency and athleticism, using his lower half efficiently to create range. Feet are quick and reactive, allowing him to move laterally with ease and maintain rhythm through the play.
Athletic Testing: 7.20 runner in the 60-yard dash; 23.10-inch max vertical jump.
