2026 Northern Washington Preseason ID - Quick Hits
February 3, 2026
On Sunday February 1st, Prep Baseball Washington hosted the Northern Washington Preseason ID at BASE By Pros in Skagit Valley, WA. Prep Baseball scouts evaluated high school athletes in the 2026-2030 graduating classes, with several strong showings throughout the event.
Preseason ID events serve as an identifier heading into the spring high school season, providing Prep Baseball scouts and college recruiters a list of prospects to follow as they plan their spring coverage. We also tend to see prospects’ best performances in the preseason, as most athletes are fresh and coming off of strict and targeted off-season training programs that have resulted in big gains. Standout performances can lead to invitations to some of the summer's biggest invite-only events, including the Pacific Northwest State Games, Prep Baseball Future Games, and more.
Today, we unveil our Quick Hits, detailing scouting notes on standout performers from our first Preseason ID event of 2026. Prospects are listed alphabetically by last name. Stay tuned the remainder of this week for all post-event coverage. For all content from this event, click here.

Quick Hits
Pitchers
'27 RHP/C Steven Doersam (Stanwood)
The junior put together one of the best showings of the day on the mound and showed a tremendous leap in overall stuff. Working exclusively from the stretch, Doersam set with a slightly closed front foot, working through a simple lift delivery as his head stayed locked on target. The arm action improved tremendously since his previous look last summer, creating plenty of whip with a 3/4 slot release and a controlled decel follow through. The FB sat 85-88 MPH, generating over 2300 RPM of spin at its best with plenty of life to all quadrants of the strike zone. SL sat 74-76 MPH with similar arm speed maintained. The CH flashed as a real out pitch at 80-81 MPH, generating over 18 inches of run on average. Doersam immediately becomes a must-follow arm heading into the spring after some of the biggest jumps we've seen from a single player in quite some time.
'28 RHP/INF Carter Johnson (Lake Stevens)
Physical 6'4, 220 pound sophomore put up standout numbers in BP rounds and flashed on the mound as well. The righty worked through a steady-paced wind, breaking from the slight 1B side of the rubber into a closed front foot land and balanced finish. The arm worked through a tighter action with late speed into a high-slot release, giving the FB true vertical action and playing well with the larger frame. Developing command settled in as bullpen went on. FB sat 81-83 T83.8 MPH, paired with a lower spin CH and CB as well.
'29 RHP/C Kai Spitzer (Kennedy Catholic)
Medium-framed freshman with present arm strength that translated both pitching and defensively, with 76 MPH throws and a 2.01 pop time from the catcher position as well. On the mound, Spitzer sat 81-83 MPH with his fastball with a three pitch mix displayed. The CH looked to play well at the bottom of the zone at 71-74 MPH, and the CB was manipulated in shape at times at 63-70 MPH. The righthander worked through a steady tempo from the abbreviated wind, clearing his hips well after a lower, sweeping front leg extension and land. The arm moved quickly for his underclassman status with a 3/4 slot release that lowered slightly at times when throwing offspeed deliveries. Impressive showing for what is shaping up to be a talented group of freshman arms at Kennedy Catholic this spring.
'27 RHP Trevor Vorderbruggen (Snohomish)
Vorderbruggen logged over 40 innings of varsity action in his sophomore spring, and looked the part of a reliable arm in his first Prep Baseball showcase look this weekend. The righty worked from the wind, with a longer drop step into a lower, quick leg lift and land. Clears hips well with a low 3/4 slot release creating some funk and deception through delivery. Filled up the strike zone with all offerings, highlighted by a FB 83-85 T85.4 MPH with heavy sinking action. The SPL was intriguing as a potential swing and miss pitch with late drop and just over 700 RPM at its best. The junior also showcased a sweepier SL and shorter CT to round out his arsenal. The clear differences in the four pitches and consistency in the zone give Vorderbruggen a starter's profile as he heads into his junior year with a skilled 3A side.
'29 RHP/INF Carson Wilms (Mount Vernon)
One of several underclassman with great two-way showings, Wilms made it look easy on the mound with three pitches that could realistically get outs at the varsity level. The FB sat 80-81 MPH with over 2500 RPM on average, creating some late life to the pitch. Wilms had more command of a firm CH at 78-80 MPH in this look, also showcasing a SL at 70-72 MPH. The 5'11, 180 pound frame carries present strength, carrying steady intent throughout his delivery. The righty starts with a slight bend in his rear knee from the stretch position, landing slightly closed with a cross-body 3/4 slot release. Wilms' arm talent should only continue to trend upward as he continues to develop, and he'll be a name to circle moving forward.
Position Players
‘27 SS Gordy Bedlington (Lynden)
Multi-sport athlete with athletic traits and a polished left-handed swing. Bedlington showed the ability to handle SS with consistent tempo and clean actions through the play. Tested well athletically with short distance burst and should not have any issues staying on the dirt long-term. Offensively he showed a simple operation at the plate with loose quick hands and a classic left-handed stroke featuring a higher, lofted finish. Well-rounded performance.

‘26 OF/RHP Daniel Delcoure (Arlington)
Uncommitted senior to keep an eye on this spring. Delcoure has always maintained 2-way potential with his combination of tools & athleticism. 6.95 runner in the 60, he showed exceptional agility and short distance burst at this workout while also making a jump in his power numbers. Exit velocity was up to 98.6 mph with an average of 91.8. Swing path allows power to play gap to gap as he has a more level approach and stays on plane. Quick, athletic hands into contact. Profiles to the OF long-term with size, gait and arm talent. On the mound, he ran the FB up to 83 and continues to show the promise of more velocity as he matures. Utilizes a shorter, more compact arm action with a tight path out of glove hand. Higher ¾ release
‘28 3B/1B Titan Fraser (Inglemoor)
Solid build at 6’0 with present strength. Put together a complete showing in batting practice and flashed high level offensive tools. Peak exit velocity was up to 101.9 mph while averaging an impressive 94.6 across both rounds. Hits from a balanced set-up with a controlled forward move that allows him to create effortless bat speed. Swing path gets on plane and stays on plane with late uphill lift through contact. Extremely strong at the point of contact with a firm front side and athletic decel. Corner INF profile long-term with exciting power potential.

‘27 SS/RHP Aaron Garza (Blaine)
2-way athlete flashed exciting arm talent both defensively and on the bump. At the plate, uses an athletic load as he syncs up hands with leg lift to create consistent separation into landing. Puts a tight, quick turn on the ball with a direct swing and late lift after contact. Defensively plays with noticeable confidence and quick, active feet. 85 mph arm across the diamond from a tight, compact throwing motion. Body control translates to the mound where he sat 84-85 mph with the FB and paired it with a sharp SL and heavy CH.
‘28 OF Jadden Geiger (Sehome)
Strong framed athlete at 6’0 with sloped shoulders and strong build. Tied for the top arm velo from the OF at 85 mph. Arm talent paired with speed and overall actions project well long-term for the OF. Offensively he was all over the barrel with a quick, balanced swing and steady demeanor. Averaged 90.1 mph EV on all batted balls with a peak of 96.6. Worked the middle of the field with a mature approach and a level stroke. Very few moving parts in the swing allowed him to stay on time and consistently get the ball out front.
‘28 SS Brayden Greenberg (Lake Washington)
Greenberg put together some of the best swings we saw on the day and really showed the off-season improvements. Peak exit velocity was up to 100.9 mph with an average of 91.8 overall for all batted balls. Hits from a quiet, balanced set-up. Very few moving parts. Allows the hands to work quickly and directly to the ball. Strong at point of contact with a consistent lead leg block. Defensively he plays with bounce and maintains low hips through the play. Quick transition into release. High motor player.

Peak EV 100.9 mph with average of 91.8
Stronger, more compact frame. Quick, powerful wrists. Controlled intent throughout. Showed quick actions/agility defensively pic.twitter.com/2kQKy2mFNl
‘28 SS Devin Johnson (Lake Stevens)
Long, wiry frame at 6’2 with pound for pound strength and twitch in his game. Posted well above average agility numbers with his athletic testing and overall is a fluid mover in all facets of his game. At the plate he was up to 98.2 mph exit velocity with above average metrics in his hand speed and rotational numbers. Could tap into an exceptionally high ceiling as he continues to mature and add strength. Defensively he stays down on the ball and plays low very easily with his hips. Overall the actions and movement patterns could handle multiple spots on the diamond and how quickly the strength develops could push him to a corner spot if needed. But there’s enough present talent to stay on the INF.
‘30 SS Luke Lowe (Anacortes)
The rising Freshman established himself as a name to know in the class. Physically he’s got present strength and a solid overall build. It’s a proportional build with wider upper half that should carry more weight easily. Offensively it’s an easy, loose swing with barrel whip through the zone and an uphill finish. Lower half stays balanced and he holds posture well. The easiness of the barrel and consistent contact stands out in a loud way, especially given his age. On defense it’s an INF type profile that may ultimately shift to a corner spot because of his chance to get stronger and become an impact power bat.
