Last Sunday, South Salem senior and LMU commit Sawyer Nelson participated in Prep Baseball's Super 60 event in McCook, Illinois. The prestigious preseason event took place for the 24th time, with over 100 MLB scouts in attendance to see some of the best talent in the country.

Nelson, a 2024 Future Games alum with Team PNW, showed well and set several new personal-bests statistically at the event, solidifying his rise as a premier talent in the area. He began the day with crisp BP rounds, peaking with a 104.0 MPH exit velocity.

Some of the underlying metrics further credit Nelson's offensive skill, finishing in the top ten of players attended in hand speed and rotational acceleration.

The talented senior also ran a 6.59 60-time and had 87 MPH throws across the infield, both significant gains since his previous showcase look. Nelson will look to build off his exceptional junior campaign in which he hit over .500 with 13 HR and 63 RBI, hoping to lead South Salem to a 6A state title.

Below is Nelson's complete player profile breakdown.
