As we look back on the 2025 summer tournament circuit here in Kansas City, we’ll be breaking down the top players by tool from each class — based on evaluations from our scouting team at Homefield and Creekside. Top Fastball Class of 2027

Bubba Day was one of the top two-way prospects we saw all summer, even though his long-term projection is as a weekend starter on the mound for Florida State. A 6-foot-4, 190-pound athlete, Day moves free and easy on the mound with long levers, plenty of room to add strength, and the overall athleticism to become a difference-maker at the next level and beyond.

At the 2025 Future Games, he topped at 93 mph with quality side-to-side movement from his 3/4 arm slot, making him especially tough on right-handed hitters. Pair that with a firm slider and he becomes a nightmare matchup, with the ability to work the ball in and away with intent. We also saw him firsthand this past summer at the KCPI with the Nebraska Prospects.
