NOTABLE RECAPS FROM MONDAY

⭐GAME OF THE DAY⭐

#11 Lehi (3) vs. #3 Maple Mountain (0)

The Lehi Pioneers leaned on a masterclass of collective pitching to silence the Maple Mountain bats in a focused 3–0 shutout victory. Sawyer Call set a dominant tone from the start, navigating five scoreless innings to keep the Golden Eagles off the board before handing the ball to Taygen Stephensen, who provided two clean frames of relief to seal the result. Offensively, the Pioneers found their spark through well-timed extra-base hits early, highlighted by a triple from Jake Welch to leadoff the game and doubles from Kannon Whiteley, Ryder Schultz, and Ryder Ockey. While Maple Mountain’s Kavyn Carter was impressive on the mound, racking up seven strikeouts over five innings, Lehi’s situational efficiency—including an RBI from Hazen Elton in the first—proved to be the difference. Despite multi-hit efforts from Maple Mountain's Mitch Walker, Kye Ward and Nash Ferguson, the Pioneers' defensive poise and elite execution on the bump ensured they maintained control throughout the afternoon to complete the upset of the 9-1 Golden Eagles. Lehi moves to 4-3 with all three losses by 1 run to quality teams, watch out for this group moving forward and into May as they look every bit the part of a championship contender in the 6A Class.

Top Performers

#24 Layton (2) vs. #6 Lone Peak (13)

The Lone Peak Knights delivered an offensive masterclass to overwhelm Layton in a commanding 13–2 victory that ended in five innings. The story of the afternoon was Kingston Stroshine, who turned in one of the most dominant individual performances of the season, finishing a perfect 3-for-3 with two home runs, a double, and a staggering eight RBIs. While Stroshine provided the fireworks, Crew Nelson and Landon Fry kept the pressure constant on the basepaths, combining for four stolen bases and four runs scored. On the mound, Grady Slesk was nearly untouchable, racking up 11 strikeouts over five innings and refusing to surrender an earned run despite Layton’s early attempts to find a rhythm. Layton managed a few bright spots, including a double from Nik Bielaczyc and an RBI from Zane Morgan, but they had no answer for the Knights' relentless power and elite efficiency at the plate. Lone Peak’s ability to maximize every scoring opportunity and Slesk’s dominance on the bump ensured the Knights maintained total control from the first pitch to the final out.

Top Performers

Uintah (9) vs. Morgan (8)

The Uintah Utes fended off a late-inning surge from the Morgan Trojans to secure a narrow 9–8 victory in a high-scoring contest that came down to the final out. The Utes' offense established control behind a multi-hit performance from Jace Erickson, who drove in three runs, and Cooper Goodrich, who peppered the gaps with two doubles to keep the carousel moving. Morgan displayed significant resilience throughout the afternoon, fueled by Logan Wayman, who collected two hits and three RBIs, and Cooper Stuart, who provided two runs and an extra-base hit. On the bump, Cooper Kay set the foundation early to earn the win, while Drayden Pope turned in a heavy relief shift to navigate through the Trojans’ late threats. Despite Morgan capitalizing on free bases and a strong two-hit day from Ryker Hacking, Uintah’s ability to manufacture a decisive middle-inning rally provided just enough separation to escape with the road win.
