Below we have scouting notes from some of the class of 2029 standouts at the event.

Mason Hiatt 3B / RHP / Standing Bear, NE / 2029

Hiatt led the freshman group with a fastball that reached 87.3 mph. The arm works quickly and he already shows an ability to throw strikes. When you combine that with solid infield actions and a productive bat, it starts to look like one of the better early two-way profiles in the 2029 class.

Hiatt impressed on the offensive side as well with a 99.5 mph exit velocity. The swing creates leverage and produces pull-side power that fits well with his profile at third base. When paired with what he showed on the mound, it creates a strong two-way foundation.

Caden Cizek 3B / RHP / Millard North, NE / 2029

Cizek ran the fastball up to 86.5 mph with noticeable life and a delivery he can repeat. The build is already fairly physical for a freshman and there is some twitch in the movements. The two-way potential is clear and his presence on the mound stood out throughout the event.

Cizek posted a 98.1 mph exit velocity and showed solid fundamentals in the box. The strength is already starting to show up in the swing and there is plenty of room for more as he develops. His ability to contribute both on the mound and at the plate adds another layer to the overall upside.

Alex Winn RHP / OF / Waverly High School, NE / 2029

Winn showed a fastball up to 85.9 mph with a clean and repeatable delivery. He demonstrated solid feel for the strike zone and the ball came out easily. The frame suggests more strength could be coming, which makes him an early follow as he continues to develop.

Donovan Scott OF / RHP / Millard North, NE / 2029

Scott reached 84.8 mph on the mound and showed the kind of athletic arm that could keep trending upward. The ball had some carry and the delivery worked well. Add in his speed and overall athleticism and the profile points toward real two-way potential.

Scott also led the freshman hitters with a 100.7 mph exit velocity. The swing produced hard contact across the field and the bat speed is already impressive for the class. With his athleticism in the outfield, the ceiling is high as he continues to mature.

Brody Cook C / 3B / Westside High School, NE / 2029

Cook reached 100 mph off the bat and showed advanced strength for a freshman catcher. The swing has natural power and he consistently found the barrel. With a strong athletic build and defensive versatility, he is firmly on the early short list for the top spot in the class.
