ALABAMA - With the 2026 high school season officially underway, it’s time to recognize the standout performances that helped set the tone across Alabama in Week 3 of the season.
Each week this spring, we will name an Alabama Player of the Week and Alabama Pitcher of the Week, honoring the top individual performances from around the state. These awards are based entirely on nominations submitted by high school coaches, highlighting the athletes who delivered when it mattered most during game action.
From dominant outings on the mound to explosive performances at the plate, Week 3 brought no shortage of impact performances. Now, it’s time to spotlight the next honorees of the 2026 season.
AL Player of the Week: Week 3

Kamrin Jenkins SS / RHP / Bob Jones, AL / 2026SS Kamrin Jenkins delivered one of the most explosive offensive weeks of the season to earn Alabama Player of the Week honors. The Missouri recruit and Super 60 attendee was nearly unstoppable at the plate, going 8-for-10 (.800) with three home runs, a triple, and three doubles while driving in six runs and scoring five more. Jenkins also showed his ability to impact the game in multiple ways, drawing three walks and swiping three bases throughout the week. |

Shelton Darnell OF / LHP / Elmore County, AL / 2026Rankings StateRank: 97 / POS: 17
OF/LHP Shelton Darnell turned in a pair of dominant performances on the mound to earn Alabama Pitcher of the Week honors. The Wallace-Dothan CC recruit worked 13 innings across two outings, allowing just three hits with no earned runs or walks while striking out 19 hitters. His week was highlighted by a complete-game victory over previous Class 6A No. 1 Homewood, where he controlled the game from start to finish against one of the state’s top lineups. |
