Today, we are going to introduce a new piece of content called the “Daily Round Up”. Here we will take a look at the games our scouts went to from the previous day and highlight key moments, standout players and our takeaways from the game.

Monday

King’s Ridge @ North Gwinnett

Score: King’s Ridge win, 10-2

Standouts:

Hudson Phillips, 3B, 2026, Kings Ridge

Chip Glogorski, C, 2026, Kings Ridge

Khari Mayfield, RHP, 2028, Kings Ridge

Graydon Sellers, 3B, 2027, North Gwinnett

Calvin Brown, OF, 2026, North Gwinnett

Key moments:
The Tigers set the tone early by loading the bases in back-to-back innings to open the game while pushing across 6 runs and putting this game away in a hurry. Senior duo of 3B Hudson Phillips and C Chip Glogorski came through for King’s Ridge in key moments and combined for 5 hits and 5 RBI. Sophomore RHP K.J Mayfield dancing around some base runners to string together multiple scoreless innings against a quality, experienced lineup.

Ian’s Takeaway: King’s Ridge has been on a mission to open the spring and that was on display Monday night in a big win over a 6A opponent. 8 of 9 starters for the Tigers were able to notch at least one hit, including 1-6 in the lineup adding an RBI. Chip Glogorski is showing a ton of composure at the plate while proving to be a bonafide leader both defensively and vocally. Hudson Phillips and Marcus Ward continue to be all over the barrel to open the spring and set the tone at the top of the lineup. This was a statement start for sophomore RHP K.J Mayfield, earning a huge win over a lineup that can put up crooked numbers in a hurry and will be a major confidence boost for the stretch run. North Gwinnett got in a hole early, but the bats still showed well. Finally back from an early season concussion, OF Calvin Brown picked up two hits in a hurry as well as four other starters picked up two hits as well. An uncommitted junior standout in 3B Graydon Sellers might have had two triple-digit EVs on both of his pull-side knocks.

Gainesville @ Roswell

Score: Roswell wins, 12-2

Standouts:
Liam Search, 2B, 2029, Roswell

Matthew Northenor, RHP, 2026, Roswell

Chase Kiewert, C, 2028, Gainesville

Key moments:
The Hornets got things going in the 2nd after a Liam Search single. Cash Chadwell laid down a picture perfect safety squeeze to get the scoring started. Gainesville would get back a couple after they scored on a dropped 3rd strike on the throw to 1B. Chase Kiewert then delivered the go ahead RBI with a single down the line. Starting in the 4th it was all offense by Roswell. Matthew Northenor capitalized on back ti back walks with a line drive to right that gets by the defender for a 3B. The Red Elephants would get a big 5-4-3 double play to get out of the inning, but the Hornets offense picked up where they left off in the 4th. Trey Smith and Chase Tuggle both had 2 RBI singles. The Hornets would go on to get the run rule in the 5th on a Liam Search single to make it 12-2.

Hudson’ Takeaway:
From what I have seen so far this season the Roswell Hornets have a chance to compete for the region title. I think Milton will be right there with them, but with a senior like Matthew Northenor leading the way on the mound they have a chance to get that game 1 win, no matter who they play. The offense executed in nearly every chance they had. I think they had 3 or 4 bunts all executed to perfection. They played quality defense and did all the little things right. They are a senior heavy group, which means they are motivated to go out on top in their final season. Freshman Liam Search could hit a quiet .300+ out of the 7 hole for the Hornets. He loves fastballs early in the count and in that spot he is going to see a lot of them. As for Gainesville they have some pieces to work with. Sophomore Peyton Osheaski looked good on the mound, just struggled to find the strike zone at times with a tight zone. He will continue to build on his starts with some of the easiest velo in that sophomore class on the mound.

South Paulding @ Hillgrove

Score: Hillgrove win, 8-1

Standouts:

Shane Jelenevsky, RHP, 2026, Hillgrove

Dylan Honore, SS, 2027, Hillgrove

Alan Aguilar, 2B, 2026, Hillgrove

Owen Tarentino, OF, 2027, Hillgrove

Jackson Musgrove, 2B, 2026, South Paulding

Key moments: A huge performance from Alan Aguilar consisting of 4- hits and 3 RBI would propel the Hawks to an 8-1 victory. A strong start from Shane Jelenevesky pushed his club to victory as well as he limited the Spartans offense to one hit and one unearned run.

Avery’s Takeaway: The Hawks came into Monday off a strong weekend with quality wins over Carrollton and Cartersville as they rolled on with an 8-1 victory. Maryland commit Shane Jelenevesky showcased pitchability as he tossed 5.2 IP with 6 strikeouts and only 1-hit as he provides immense value at the top of the rotation for Coach Richardson and staff. Alan Aguilar powered the offense in a 4-for-4 showing with 2 singles, double, and a solo homerun with 3 RBI as he looks to be a key piece and a fixture in the lineup. Other contributors for the Hawks came by the way of juniors Dylan Honore and Owen Tarentino who produced a pair of RBI base-hits. The lone run for the Spartans would come from Jackson Musgrove after reaching on an error. Musgrove would later come through with a pair of knocks of a potent arm talent as he looks poised to pace the offense on the middle-of-the-order. The Hawks boasts a deep roster on both sides of the ball with multiple pieces that can contribute on a nightly basis which bodes well for the rigors of region play.
