Tupelo Christian Prep picked up an 8-5 win over Belmont on Saturday, using a strong start at the plate and aggressive baserunning to control the game early. After answering Belmont’s two-run first inning with three runs of their own, the Eagles continued to add on behind RBI efforts from Johnson, Cornelison, and Godown. Ward earned the win with three innings of work, and TCPS swiped eight bases while turning a double play defensively to secure the victory.

+ ALCORN CENTRAL VS. WATER VALLEY (PB MISSISSIPPI SMALLTOWN SHOWDOWN)

Alcorn Central outslugged Water Valley 18-12 on Saturday in a high-scoring matchup that featured 26 total hits. Whitten led the charge with a 4-for-5 performance, including a double and three singles, as the Golden Bears piled up 17 hits. Alcorn Central broke the game open with big innings in the second and fifth, highlighted by RBI swings from Whitten, Terry, and Miller. The Golden Bears also applied pressure on the bases with eight stolen bags, while Parrish earned the win. Water Valley collected nine hits and drew 12 walks but couldn’t keep pace with Alcorn Central’s offensive surge.

+ NEW SITE VS. STARKVILLE ACADEMY (PB MISSISSIPPI SMALLTOWN SHOWDOWN)

Starkville Academy methodically built its lead in a 9-2 win over New Site on Saturday. The Volunteers struck early with a two-run double from Templeton in the first and added on with a sacrifice fly from Couvillion and a solo homer by Portera in the second. House earned the win, allowing just one hit over four innings, while Burkley delivered three scoreless frames in relief. Starkville Academy totaled 10 hits and eight walks, with Templeton and Buckner each driving in two runs to lead the offense.

+ MARSHALL ACADEMY VS. DESOTO CENTRAL

DeSoto Central rallied from a four-run deficit to edge Marshall Academy 6-5 on Saturday. Trailing 5-3 in the fifth, the Jaguars erupted for five runs in the inning, highlighted by a three-run double from McMurphy that flipped the game. DeSoto Central finished with 10 hits, with Lockhart and Stapleton adding multi-hit efforts. On the mound, Cook and Gautreau combined to navigate early trouble and hold off Marshall Academy late, securing the comeback victory.

+ GERMANTOWN VS. NEWTON COUNTY

Germantown earned a 6-3 road win over Newton County on Saturday, jumping out early and never relinquishing control. The Mavericks plated two in the first on an RBI single from Simpson and added on throughout, including a solo homer from Rayburn in the fifth. Simpson picked up the win on the mound, while Rayburn provided steady relief to close it out. Germantown drew seven walks and turned a double play defensively, holding off a Newton County lineup that collected 10 hits in the contest.
