2026 Iowa High School Team Preview: Waterloo West

The 2026 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement is building throughout Iowa. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Iowa.
Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in Carroll or Cedar Rapids at the IHSAA 1A, 2A, 3A, and 4A State Tournaments, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to shine a spotlight on all teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Iowa.

“This team works extremely hard and loves to constantly work on their game. This season we return a lot of guys from last season who have a lot of experience already on the varsity team. They have been putting in the time this offseason and I believe that it will show this year on the field. With a strong Senior class headed by a guy who also was our schools starting quarterback the leadership on the team is noticeable. I expect a lot from this group and think they have put in the time to produce during the season. I am very excited about the upcoming season. ” – Mitchel Fordyce, head coach
