Beau Hite, RHP/INF, Emerald, 2028

The Sophomore gets the nod for Emerald taking the mound in game 1 of the week. Toeing the rubber at 6-0 167-pounds showed the ability to compete in the zone with all pitches, getting swing and miss or weak contact most of the night. The fastball played at 84-85 with the ability to touch 87, it played well at the top of the zone holding plane making it tough for hitters to square up. It paired well with the Curveball that had a depth through the bottom of the strikezone, playing at 73-74mph. He was able to tunnel these pitches well, keeping hitters off balance all night. He also mixed in a cutter (79-82mph) and a slider (76-78) to keep hitters guessing. The slider was able to break off the plate through the bottom of the zone away from a RHH. The Cutter played well off the Fastball well, Late + sharp action off the edge of the plate to miss barrels. Beau also led off the game with a loud pull side double down the LF line. Smooth rhythm in the box, pulling the hands back to create stretch and a strong position to hit from. Quick actions out of the box allowed for an easy Stand up Double.
