Championship Results from Tuesday
🏆 Hamilton 10, Corona del Sol 7
Hamilton delivered one of the most memorable comebacks of the Arizona postseason Tuesday night, storming back from a seven run deficit to defeat Corona del Sol 10-7 and capture the 6A State Championship at Tempe Diablo Stadium. Corona del Sol exploded for seven runs in the second inning and appeared firmly in control early, highlighted by Williams' bases clearing triple as the Aztecs stunned the crowd with an offensive outburst.
But Hamilton never folded. The Huskies slowly chipped away over the next several innings before erupting for five runs in the fifth to completely flip the momentum of the game. Nelson delivered one of the biggest moments of the night with a sacrifice fly that tied the game before Hamilton surged ahead moments later thanks to a Wuttke RBI single. Rahn added a solo homer in the sixth inning to create separation, while Thompson shut the door with five scoreless innings in relief to complete the comeback.
The championship run for Hamilton embodied resilience throughout the postseason, fighting through elimination games and repeatedly answering adversity with timely offense and competitive pitching. Tuesday night proved no different, as the Huskies erased a massive early deficit to finish their season on top as 6A State Champions.
