2026 Iowa High School Team Preview: Solon

The 2026 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement is building throughout Iowa. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Iowa.
Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in Carroll or Cedar Rapids at the IHSAA 1A, 2A, 3A, and 4A State Tournaments, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to shine a spotlight on all teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Iowa.

“We return lots of pitching this season...all but one pitcher from last year's staff, which will be a driving force for our team's success this season, led by Luke Deike, Tate Miller, Brady Wick, Luke Merrick, and Tyler Greazel. Our top 4-5 returning hitters are proven/productive (Maddox Kelley, Luke Merrick, Dylan Gorham, and Carson Kidwell)...the key will be how the other 4-5 players can round out our offense. I REALLY like how our roster has gelled. Our guys like playing for one another AND for the name across their chest, and that's SO important.
