2026 MSHSAA Team Rankings: Week 5
April 20, 2026
The Missouri high school baseball kicks off on March 19th, opening day for regular season action under MSHSAA regulations. Leading up to opening day, we published our team previews ahead of the 2026 spring season, touching on programs spanning all state classifications, counting down to the official Prep Baseball Missouri Preseason Team Rankings.
Our rankings are broken up into two divisions: large school and small schools. We classify the 'large' schools as those residing in Class 5 & 6, while the small schools make up the remaining MSHSAA classifications. We rank what we believe to be the top teams in the state at that level, as well as highlighting several 'On Deck' teams.
Below you will find our week five team rankings for the 2026 season for Large Schools and Small Schools.

2026 Prep Baseball Missouri Large School Rankings - Week 5
It was a huge week across the state as several top programs squared off in tournament action, bringing the competitive landscape into much clearer focus.
Despite every team in the top five suffering a loss over the week, that group remains unchanged for this update. Nixa highlighted the week's top-tier action, securing convincing ranked victories over No. 12 Rock Bridge and No. 5 Jackson during the Columbia Tournament. Jackson put together an impressive showing of its own, picking up ranked wins over No. 12 Rock Bridge and defeating No. 10 Eureka for the second time this spring.
Movement began in the middle of the top ten as SLUH and Francis Howell both climbed two spots to No. 6 and No. 7, respectively. Although Francis Howell fell just short in the Columbia Tournament championship on a walk-off against Staley, they bolstered their resume with wins over Small School No. 3 Blair Oaks and No. 4 Nixa.
Willard emerged as one of the week's biggest winners, jumping three spots to No. 8 after a strong 3-1 performance in Columbia. Following them, Vianney moved up one spot to No. 9 after a perfect 3-0 weekend that secured them the Marshfield Wood Bat Invitational title. Conversely, both Eureka and Rock Bridge fell several spots following challenging weekends.
Two programs made their season debuts in the rankings this week: Webb City and Rockwood Summit at No. 14 and No. 15, respectively. A consistently strong program, Webb City currently sits at 13-4 and has asserted itself as a top Class 5 contender with wins over Warrensburg, No. 3 Liberty, and Arkansas No. 13 Bentonville. Rockwood Summit enters the mix after a standout week featuring a series sweep of previously ranked Lafayette, adding to an impressive resume that already includes victories over No. 11 Marquette and No. 6 SLUH.

Excelsior Springs moves up one spot to No. 4 following a perfect 3-0 showing at the Northland Tournament, which featured three convincing wins over large-school opponents. Duchesne also slides up one position to No. 5 after a 3-0 week highlighted by a statement victory over Large School No. 9 St. John Vianney.
