Flint Hill 14, Maret 5

A tip of the hat to Flint Hill for having their field playable after Wednesday evening's heavy storms and a dreary, misty day that led to a cool overcast evening as these two faced off in game two of their season opening home-and-home MAC series. The Huskies would earn the series split in a game that was tight early until Flint Hill broke it open late. Junior Zach Rachinsky was 4-4 with 3 RBIs for Flint Hill and sophomore Jefferson Speakes had 4 RBI and drove in the game-winning runs for the Huskies. Senior Marshall Johnson tossed 3 perfect innings of relief with 6 strikeouts to lock down the victory. For Maret, junior Grant King had 2 hits and 2 RBI.

Magna Vista 10, Lord Botetourt 7

There was a lot of offense in this one, making it a back and forth affair until the middle innings. Jaylen Frazier and Tyler Martin led the way for Magna Vista as they had multi-hit nights offensively and made contributions on the mound. Brady Kish (Averett) and Chase Peck were run producers for Lord Botetourt, bringing in multiple runs each. Those contributions weren't enough to overcome the offense put up in the fourth and fifth innings from Magna Vista.

Rappahannock 6, Auburn 5

The Raiders of Rappahannock used a six run fourth to seal a big victory over VHSL Class 1 foe, Auburn. While the Eagles had a big inning themselves, their four run fifth would not be enough to overcome the visiting Raiders. Daniel Morrison seemed to make big pitch after big pitch for the Raiders to escape any further trouble. Morrison also helped himself out at the plate, being the only Raider to collect multiple hits on the day. Auburn sophomore Alex Young had a massive day of his own, going 3-4 with three doubles and two RBI.

Pulaski County 10, Blacksburg 9

Similar to another game out west on Thursday, Pulaski used a huge inning to topple the Blacksburg Bruins. During the sixth inning, the Cougars strung together five hits, three walks, and a Bruins’ error to bring home seven runs and tie the game up. In the bottom of the seventh, the Cougars started the inning with a walk, a HBP, and the walk-off ensued one batter later. Cade Souder hit a line drive to center field and delivered a walk-off hit giving the Cougars a 10-9 win over fellow River Ridge district member, Blacksburg. While there was not a ton of shutdown pitching taking place on either side, there was plenty of offense and baserunners to go around. Soma Kato and Zay Noble both had multi-hit nights for the Bruins, while Cade Souder was 3-4 with two RBI and two Runs Scored.

#22 Liberty Christian 16, EC Glass 8

Liberty Christian pulled away late, with a 16-run sixth inning to defeat E.C. Glass 16–8 on Friday. The Hilltoppers had the early lead with a score of 7-0 and Senior Tyler Ruhl (VMI) throwing five shutout innings but would see some traffic in the sixth. One big inning from Liberty Christian proved too much, as they capitalized on multiple walks, hit by pitches, and errors to turn a close game into a blowout win.
