2026 CHSAA Players of the Week: March 23-28

Caleb Dameron
Prep Baseball Colorado Staff

Each week during the high school season, the Prep Baseball Colorado staff will be announcing our 'Player of the Week' award for that particular week. Numerous players from across the state continue to perform and put up numbers on a week-to-week basis, though only one athlete can take home the 'hitter' or 'pitcher' award each week. Below you'll see which players have earned our 'Player of the Week' honors this spring season.

NOTE: These submissions were provided from high school coaches and others from around our state. If you are a interested in nominating a player, please contact Marc Wagner ([email protected]).

CHSAA PLAYERS OF THE WEEK: MARCH 23-28

HITTER OF THE WEEK:

Karter Robertson SS / RHP / Vista Peak Prep, CO / 2028

The sophomore turned in a perfect week at the plate, going 7-for-7, highlighted by a THREE home run game. He also tallied 3 hits against the state’s No. 2 ranked program and one of Colorado’s top arms at Arvada West. Robertson finished with 5 extra-base hits (3 HR, 3B, 2B), added a couple of stolen bases, and drove in 7 runs overall. With a highly projectable frame, Robertson is already hitting .486 with 5 homers across 38 plate appearances this spring at the 5A level, and is certainly one to watch closely as the season unfolds.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK:

Landon Kennell SS / RHP / Delta, CO / 2026

Kennell continues to make noise as one of the top uncommitted seniors in the state, and last week he delivered one of the more impressive all-around performances you’ll see. Against Montrose on Thursday, Kennell got the start on the mound and went the distance, tossing 7 innings while punching out an eye-popping 17 hitters. He allowed zero earned runs, walked just one, and gave up only 4 hits.

He didn’t stop there, Kennell also belted a home run in the game and added a stolen base, showcasing his impact on both sides of the ball. The senior brings plenty of overall feel, active strength, and athleticism, with a hit tool and the ability to play up the middle defensively.

Kennell is certainly an uncommitted player to keep a close eye on this spring as he looks to find a college home. We also saw him at one of this year’s Preseason ID events, where he posted a 6.75 60-yard dash, over 100 mph top exit velocity, and threw 89 mph from the infield. Our scouting staff has already seen him up to 87 mph on the mound in-game this spring as well.

His production at the 3A/4A level this spring has been outstanding: 35 strikeouts in 16.1 innings with zero earned runs, while hitting .471 through 22 plate appearances.

HONORABLE MENTIONS: Jake Watts, Maddox Burnett, Gage Viken, Hunter Vitello, Joel Ramirez, Finn Wischmeier, Josh Weaver, Jack Reed
