On Wednesday, July 1st, the PB Texas staff traveled to McLennan Community College in Waco, TX, to host the Top Prospect Games: Waco, an invite-only event for all high school classes.

More than 35 players made their way to McLennan CC and participated in a pro-style workout, gathering unrivaled access to data through our state-of-the-art tech partners, as well as in-depth scouting analysis from our Prep Baseball Texas staff.

Today, we take a look at the scouting reports on every catcher in attendance as well as rank the top 5 from the event.

ALL CATCHING PROSPECTS

1. Easton Hernandez, Pieper (TX), 2029
Positional Profile: C/1B RHH/Catcher. Developing behind plate. Solid bat/power combo in future. Player to watch develop over next 3 years.
Body: 6-1, 188.5 pounds. Width to back/shoulders. Good middle/lower. Projects well physically.
Hit: RHH. Toe tap stride, lands slightly closed. Rotational back foot, solid use of lower 1/2 in swing. Hits into firm front leg, stride foot into ground. Good, upright posture. With stride, back elbow raises, bottom hand pushes back creating barrel tip over head causing length to swing. Soften movement of elbow and hand allowing barrel to launch from area behind head creating more direct path to baseball. Shortening swing.
Power: 97 mph max exit velocity (92.7 avg.); 376-foot max batted distance.
Arm: RH. C - 77 mph. Solid pop times in workout. Quickness to release along with carry to throws. 2.08 in game play pop.
