Missouri Class of 2027 Rankings Update: Post-Summer Edition

The 2026 summer circuit has wrapped up, and the Prep Baseball Missouri staff has made a post-summer update to the Show-Me State’s 2027 rankings as this class heads into its senior year. This refreshed list takes stock of the summer’s performances, highlighting 300 players, with several notable newcomers and plenty of movement across the board.

Good jumps 36 spots from No. 69 to No. 33 in this update after a strong showing at the Senior Future Games. The Central Michigan commit was consistent throughout gameplay while also putting together a very steady workout, posting a 96 mph exit velocity and 85 mph infield velocity. Brayden committed to Central Michigan shortly after the Future Games and finishes the summer as one of the biggest risers in the class. |

Matthew Burns SS/RHP / Willard, MO / 2027Rankings StateRank: 43 / POS: 8
Burns makes one of the biggest jumps in this update, climbing 48 spots from No. 91 to No. 43 after a strong showing at the Senior Future Games. The two-way standout showed well on both sides of the ball, posting a 97 mph exit velocity and 6.89 60 while running his fastball up to 91 mph during gameplay. Burns remains a true two-way prospect in the state and finishes the summer firmly on the radar.

Tucker Gamet 2B/OF / Liberty North, MO / 2027Rankings StateRank: 70 / POS: 1
Gamet was one of the standout performers at the Senior Future Games, using a toolsy profile and 6.57 speed to make a major jump in this update. The Liberty North product made an impressive play up the middle at 2B while showing his athleticism defensively and continued to demonstrate a consistent approach at the plate. Gamet climbs 46 spots from No. 116 to No. 70 in this update and recently announced his commitment to Hutchinson Community College.

Carson Hardin RHP / Seckman, MO / 2027Rankings StateRank: 75 / POS: 27
Hardin makes a strong move up the rankings, climbing 24 spots from No. 99 to No. 75 after dominating at the Missouri State Games this summer. The right-hander ran his fastball up to 88 mph at the event while continuing to show the ability to miss bats and work in the zone. The Mineral Area JC commit finishes the summer as one of the class’s biggest risers. |

Casen Smith 3B/OF / Eureka, MO / 2027Rankings StateRank: 94 / POS: 6
Smith was one of the summer’s biggest risers, climbing 42 spots from No. 136 to No. 94 after a strong showing on the PBT circuit. The switch-hitter has shown the ability to play all over the diamond while providing a smooth, consistent swing from both sides of the plate. His performance at the PBT STL 17U National Championship earned him a Tournament Spotlight and a spot on the National Prep Baseball Tournaments Team. Smith’s strong summer propels him into the top 100 in the end-of-summer rankings. |

Brody Carr RHP / Liberty, MO / 2027Rankings StateRank: 105 / POS: 31
Carr makes one of the biggest jumps in this update, moving 101 spots from No. 206 to No. 105 after a strong showing at the Central Super Senior Games. The 6-foot-5, 185-pound right-hander showcased plenty of upside on the mound, running his fastball up to 89 mph while continuing to show the raw ingredients of a high-ceiling arm. Carr’s performance this summer vaults him into the top 110.

Case Steinbach C/OF / Marshfield, MO / 2027Rankings StateRank: 142 / POS: 20
Steinbach makes one of the largest jumps in this update, climbing 118 spots from No. 260 to No. 142 after a strong showing at the St. Louis Summer ID. The Crowder JC commit showed a well-rounded athletic profile, running a 6.94 60 while posting an 85 mph outfield velocity, 81 mph catcher velocity and 92 mph exit velocity. Steinbach also recorded a 1.87–2.01 pop time and recently committed to Crowder on August 1st. |

Vander Halford OF/LHP / Blair Oaks, MO / 2027Rankings StateRank: 87 / POS: 21
Vander brings a strong combination of size, athleticism and two-way ability to the 2027 class. The 6-foot-3, 200-pound left-handed hitter was a key piece of Blair Oaks’ Class 3 state championship team, hitting .458 with five home runs and 33 RBI while also going 6-0 with a 2.42 ERA on the mound. At the Missouri State Games, Halford ran a 6.83 60-yard dash and posted a 91 mph outfield velocity, further showcasing the athleticism and arm strength that make him an important addition to the rankings. |

Tyler Rasch SS/RHP / St. Louis University, MO / 2027Rankings StateRank: 117 / POS: 19
Tyler Rasch is a toolsy middle-infield addition to the 2027 rankings, bringing a combination of athleticism and developing offensive upside. The 5-foot-10, 158-pound left-handed hitter ran a 6.75 60-yard dash at the Missouri State Games while recording an 85 mph infield velocity and 91 mph exit velocity. The Rockhurst commit also took the mound and topped out at 85.2 mph, showcasing the arm strength that should continue to play well at shortstop.

Barek Hoffman OF / Webb City, MO / 2027Rankings StateRank: 118 / POS: 25
Hoffman brings an intriguing combination of speed, athleticism and power to the 2027 rankings. The Webb City outfielder ran a standout 6.58 60-yard dash at the Heart of America Summer ID while reaching 90 mph from the outfield and posting a 102 mph exit velocity. A strong defensive outfielder, Hoffman’s athleticism and range give him the ability to impact the game on both sides of the ball. |

Cole Hass RHP / St. Joseph Central, MO / 2027Rankings StateRank: 136 / POS: 39
At 6-foot-7, 205 pounds, Hass offers plenty of projection as a right-handed pitcher in the 2027 class. Hass has shown steady velocity gains this summer, topping out at 88 mph at the Kansas Summer ID after sitting in the mid-to-upper 80s at the MOKAN Summer ID. His combination of size and developing stuff gives him plenty of upside on the mound and makes him a good addition to the final rankings.

Blayke Morgan SS / Blue Springs South, MO / 2027Rankings StateRank: 139 / POS: 22
Blayke brings a well-rounded profile to the 2027 rankings as a left-handed hitting middle-infielder. The Blue Springs South standout ran a 6.90 60-yard dash at the MOKAN Summer ID while recording an 84 mph infield velocity and 91 mph exit velocity. Morgan was also recognized as a second-team All-State outfielder by the Missouri High School Baseball Coaches Association, adding to his overall track record and making him a worthy addition to the rankings.
