Put together a 3-for-3 showing as he reached base in all four plate appearances including a backside RBI double, a pull-side double, a pull-side single, and a walk as well. Boasts tons of twitch in the athletic 5-foot-10, 155-pound frame with tools to project upon in the box. The RHH shows an excellent ability to rotate and with loose, twitchy hands with some present bat speed through the zone. Barrel stays in the zone forever with accuracy to match and feel to spray the ball line-to-line. Plus runner and consistently makes his presence felt on the base-paths with the ability to stretch base-hits. Athletic in the dirt at the keystone with present lateral quickness to either side and flexibility with soft hands to match. It’s a high-floor profile for Mathews who will carry a huge role for the Eagles as they head into the playoffs.
