Future Games Spotlight: Grant Chaffin

The gritty, gamer mentality that Chaffin offers can set the outfielder apart at times and when you back it up with a plus run tool and bat-to-ball skills, the profile becomes impossible to ignore. Chaffin would set the top 60 yard time for any Georgia player in attendance at 6.48 with the ability to play even faster both on the base paths and patrolling CF. Keeps the barrel in-zone forever from the left-side, showing present bat-to-ball skills in an all-fields approach and ability to always stay within himself to provide consistent quality at-bats. Menace on the bases with an aggressive approach matched with an explosive first step that puts pressure on the defense at nearly all times. Surefire tools to keep the outfielder in center long-term with plus range in all directions and willingness to put his body on the line always. Hard not to foresee Chaffin being a highly-productive player at the D1 level and that could even be selling the profile short.
