Marco Montesanti has continued to push his profile forward over the past year, with measurable gains in speed, arm strength and offensive impact. The Shadow Ridge middle infielder remains uncommitted and currently sits at No. 17 overall in Nevada's 2027 class and No. 5 at his position.

His most recent Prep Baseball look at the Las Vegas Preseason ID provided his strongest overall showing to date. Montesanti ran a 6.44 60 with a 1.63 10-yard split and 3.64 30-yard split, reached 94 mph across the infield and posted a 96.3 mph max exit velocity with a 369-foot best distance.

Montesanti will get another significant opportunity in front of college coaches this fall when he attends the 2026 West Coast Games, Oct. 2-4 at BYU, Utah Valley and Utah. The event brings together uncommitted 2027 and 2028 prospects from across the West Coast, giving Montesanti another chance to showcase a profile that has taken a noticeable step forward over the past year.

Speed has developed into one of the stronger parts of Montesanti's profile. At the Las Vegas Preseason ID in January of 2025, he ran a 7.07 60 with a 1.78 10-yard split and 3.94 time through 30 yards. Each checkpoint has improved significantly since.

Montesanti finished with a 6.44 60 at his most recent event while turning in a 1.63 10-yard split and 3.64 at 30 yards. The splits stand out just as much as the final time, showing quick acceleration out of the start before getting into his top-end speed. Montesanti lowered his 60-yard time from 7.07 to 6.44, while improving from 1.78 to 1.63 through 10 yards and 3.94 to 3.64 through 30. The improvement throughout the entire run has been one of the clearest developments in his profile.
OFFENSIVE DEVELOPMENT

INFIELD ARM STRENGTH

The arm strength has followed the same upward trend. Montesanti reached 89 mph across the infield in January of 2025 before improving to 92 mph at the GBG Vegas Scout Day in October.

He was up to 94 mph at his latest event, giving him a five mph jump in just over a year. Combined with the improved first-step quickness and overall speed, the arm strength adds another strong piece to his middle-infield profile with the versatility to play any outfield spot.
