August 19, 2026
Baton Rouge, LA - On August 15-16, 2026, the Prep Baseball Louisiana staff traveled to Alex Box Stadium for the 2026 Texas/Louisiana Super Sophomore Games. Over 70 prospects combined from Louisiana and Texas in the 2029 class were able to compete against each other at one of the premier facilities in the entire country. Each participant went through a pro-style workout that consisted of running a laser-timed 60-yard dash using Vald Performance, defensive evaluations, and batting practice using Trackman Baseball. Below, we take a look at the Louisiana position players that caught our eye from this past weekend.

Grant Guillory SS / RHP / Mamou High School, LA / 2029Rankings StateRank: 22 / POS: 4
Guillory put together one of the better all-around weekends at Alex Box Stadium, making his presence felt on the offensive side of the ball. The 6-foot, 174-pound prospect showed plenty of impact during batting practice, reaching a max exit velocity of 99.3 mph. That production carried over into game action, as Guillory finished the weekend 3-for-4 with a double that he drove to deep center field. It was an impressive showing that highlighted both his ability to impact the baseball and translate it into game production.

He showed the ability to find the barrel and do damage when he got pitches to hit, producing extra-base impact in multiple at-bats. It was a productive weekend for Scott and another encouraging look at the Catholic BR catcher.

The physical 5-foot-9, 190-pound right-handed hitter finished the event 2-for-3 and showed a compact swing with tight turns and present bat speed. His power production is nothing new, as McCollum hit .342 with seven home runs and 27 RBI as a freshman last spring for Mandeville.
