Broder Katke C / 3B / Brother Rice High School, MI / 2027Report: Katke had a busy summer after another strong season for Brother Rice. Katke was on the full circuit on a national scale making appearances in Cary, NC. Our staff continues to be high on Katke with his high level catching ability and capability to handle a diverse pitching staff. We’ve seen him take another jump with the bat as he continues to produce on a multitude of levels. A big offseason looms for the Commodore recruit as he enters his final campaign for the Warriors. |
Jackson Fossitt LHP / 1B / Leslie High School, MI / 2027Report: Fossitt attended the East Coast Pro event in Alabama. The southpaw hurler had an increase uptick with his arsenal an running the fastball into the low 90s. Fossitt posses a ¾ arm slot making it difficult on hitters, espc. Left handers. Fossitt will headline Leslie HS team in 2027 and another name professional scouts will be looking to get eyes on earlier than later. |
Owen Tornga RHP / 1B / Mona Shores High School, MI / 2027Report: Tornga capped off a stellar summer with an appearance at the exclusive East Coast Pro in Hoover, Ala.. Owen garnered eyes of professional scouts throughout his summer as he has been able to take another jump in his development and increase velocity on his fastball into the low to mid 90s. Secondaries are also making a jump - will be one to keep a follow on as we head into the fall and offseason. A name to surely circle back on and see. |
Cameron Thorning C / OF / Woodhaven High School, MI / 2027Report: Thorning has continued his tear on the diamond with his consistent play and leadership behind the plate for Woodhaven and Michigan Bulls organization. Has taken his bat to another level with limited swing and miss striking balls more consistently on the barrel and has a real feel to hit in big time moments as he played a big role for WHS leading them to a Final Four appearance. |
The Risers
Blake Brown RHP / OF / Gull Lake High School, MI / 2027Rankings StateRank: 14 / POS: 5
Report: Brown was one of a few who returned to Future Games from a year ago. Brown worked a pair of innings on the opening day while punching out four batters. Fastball peaked upto 90 mph did flash a few sliders with a stronger spin rate 2600-2700 rpm. Brown will be solid addition to many programs across the region. |
Griffin Delusky RHP / 3B / Brother Rice High School, MI / 2027Rankings StateRank: 17 / POS: 6
Report: Delusky was busy the last few weeks of the summer making an appearance for Team Great Lakes at the Senior Future Games in Emerson, GA. A large 6’2+ body with a fastball sitting primarily 86-88 up to 90, also pairs it with a stout slider. Following SFG, Delusky pledged a commitment to GLIAC tradition rich Grand Valley State. |
Nathan Siler RHP / 1B / Sacred Heart Academy, MI / 2027Rankings StateRank: 18 / POS: 7
Report: Siler is also coming off an appearance from Senior Future Games where he worked a pair innings limiting runs, showing off what hes been best at all spring and summer. A stout 6’4 frame, Siler embodies the spirit to win and compete at a high level, evident by leading MPSA to a State Championship this past spring. Upper 80s fastball paired with a plus changeup and 12/6 breaking ball, Siler is one were high on as we head into the offseason as already is equipped with pitchability on the hill and big game innings. |
Eli Sturgess SS / OF / Powers Catholic, MI / 2027Rankings StateRank: 19 / POS: 4
Report: Sturgess is the 2nd Sturgess in the family to commit to a Division I program. We like the way he moves in the field and can manipulate the barrel and finds a way on base often. Has ability to change an inning with his feet. We do think there is untapped power in the bat, but will come more as he continues to mature physically into his frame. |
Easton Williams RHP / 3B / Wayland High School, MI / 2027Rankings StateRank: 24 / POS: 10
Report: Williams is another West Michigan arm taking big strides everytime out it feels like. 6’4 205lbs, he's got an exciting body profile with a big arm up to 92 and strong outing at Senior Future Games. Williams has set himself up for a big offseason as we feel he can take another jump on the mound. A name who won’t be on the board long. |
Adam Narr SS / RHP / Lutheran High School North, MI / 2027Rankings StateRank: 26 / POS: 5
Report: Narr had a strong spring and summer garnering a well deserved invite to SFG this July. An athletic defender with arguably the top arm in the class on the left side of the diamond, continues to find his way at the plate but is a strong anchor in the middle of the diamond. Narr pledged a commitment to Eastern Michigan shortly after SFG and will be a strong addition for Coach Beerman and his 2027 class as they look to continue upward in the Mid-American Conference. |
Memphis Davenport 1B / 3B / Southgate Anderson High School, MI / 2027Rankings StateRank: 34 / POS: 3
Report: Davenport joined Team Great Lakes in Emerson, GA over the later half of July and showed why he is one of top defenders at first and is starting to tap into his power at the plate. 6’4+ frame with athletic footwork around the bag and has a knack to hit in key situations. Can drive the ball to both alleyways to poolside and back side for XBH. |
Joseph Bobeda OF / OF / Dewitt High School, MI / 2027Rankings StateRank: 39 / POS: 6
Report: Bobeda continues to elevate his game as he is seen with consistent at bats and has seen an uptick in extra base hits from spring to summer in many PBT events. Seen as a solid defender in the outfield, we’ve seen Joe impact the game with his feet on the bases. Not a ton of movements through the swing as it is already compact and can get the barrel to the ball. Another LHH OF who will be a strong addition to the program looking to add speed, athleticism and a left handed stick to their class. |
College Coaches Need To Circle Back To
Taber Edwards-Benner SS / RHP / Midland High School, MI / 2027Rankings StateRank: 16 / POS: 3
Report: Edwards-Benner is one of the lone players who is still playing this summer as he is playing for the National Championship with Berryhill Post 165 in North Carolina. Taber has been a steady force in the middle of the diamond with an arm who can stay on the left side, but also can provide position versatility at 2nd and 3rd base. He’s always been able to come up clutch in times we’ve seen Edwards-Benner, as evident with a big homer in Emerson, GA at Senior Future Games. |
Lucas Farner SS / 2B / Woodhaven High School, MI / 2027Rankings StateRank: 29 / POS: 6
Report: Strong baseball IQ as he is one of the top uncommitted middle infielders in the class left on the board. We like his consistency across the board, especially on the infield where he is most comfortable at SS. More excited about how he’s developed a fine-tuned approach at the dish and has showed ability to handle high level arms from across the region. Here |
Lucas Kusina RHP / SS / Orchard Lake St. Mary's, MI / 2027Rankings StateRank: 41 / POS: 16
Report: Our staff has always been impressed with Kusina as we initially ID’d him at a Scout Day a few years ago. One of the traits that sticks out to us is his timely pace on the mound coupled with a strong lower half and has shown a three pitch mix. Another arm who will look to take another step in the right direction this offseason. |
Brady Stephens C / RHP / Swan Valley High School, MI / 2027Rankings StateRank: 56 / POS: 7
Report: We’ve seen Stephens a handful of times over the past 5 months from spring to summer and he’s getting better each time you see him. His size and overall strength is something that stands out when you first get a peak at home. One of the few two-way prospects who has a left handed stick and upside on the mound. Has displayed a strong arm behind the dish with improving receiving skills, and fastball into the upper 80s on the mound with more to come from his arsenal. Stephens is an exciting prospect who still has upside on both sides of the ball and one we will follow closely into the offseason. |
Gabe Wegener LHP / OF / Bay City Western, MI / 2027Rankings StateRank: 70 / POS: 4
Report: Wegener has created more buzz around his name this season as he had some big hits throughout the course of the summer with a smoother lefthanded stroke and can provide valuable innings on the mound from the left side and will look to take on more responsibilities this coming spring for BC Western. What’s most exciting is there is still more strength to come from the young southpaw. |
Jerryd Scheurer SS / RHP / Portland St. Patrick, MI / 2027Rankings StateRank: 75 / POS: 14
Report: Schuerer is coming off an impressive spring and summer campaign where he helped lead Portland St. Patricks to another outstanding season and followed it up with a strong defensive and offensive output for Capital City Kings 17u. A key piece in the middle in the infield with good range and ability to make plus defensive plays adds value to his repertoire. Solid overall offensive package with ability to get on base at a high rate with the short game and flashed some power to both alleys. Schuerer is one who can bring strong value to a program who’s looking for a high IQ baseball player. |
Samuel McCullough SS / 2B / Lakeview High School, MI / 2027Rankings StateRank: 80 / POS: 17
Report: Sam is another uncommitted infielder who had a strong summer for Top Tier posting strong numbers across the board. A left handed bat who has a knack to hit with some power 20 doubles in the HS season and has a keen eye at the plate. A name schools should make an attempt to see as we head into the fall season. |
Aryan Punjabi RHP / OF / Mt Pleasant Senior High School, MI / 2027Rankings StateRank: 92 / POS: 35
Report: Punjabi has been a jack of all trades for Mt. Pleasant and Berryhill Post 165 this summer. His coaches are able to stick him in big moments and big games as he was the ace of a young Oiler squad this spring and has come up in the clutch for Berryhill throughout their state and regional runs in the American Legion postseason. A high academic profile who can add value to a variety of rosters. |
