Prep Baseball Dakotas Rankings Insider: Class of 2027 (August 2026 Update)

Caden Nelson stays put in the number one spot in the Dakotas. Possesing pitchability, and being one of the best raw arms out of the 2027 class from the Upper Midwest. With a 6-4/190 build, Nelson could have more in the tank in the near future.

Borchardt brings one of the easiest swings with juice on the table from the Upper Midwest. After flipping his commitment from Oregon to Georgia Tech, Borchardt has traveled and performed on the summer circuiit, rounding it out at the Area Code Games.  

Jack Blomgren shined on the mound at the the 2026 Senior Future Games. Blomgren filled up the strike zone, sitting 89-91 peaking at 92.3. The projectable arm w/ stiff movements, exploded onto the scene this spring, first seeing him at the 2026 South Dakota High School State Tournament. 

Tooke murdered baseballs during the spring and carried that moementum into the Summer Circuit. The physical bat from west of the Missouri River continues to develop in his game. A name to follow throughout next spring and beyond. 

Wede attacks hitters with an above average 4-pitch mix with fastballs peaking in the low 90s. An interesting arm out of the Sioux Falls area that hasn't stopped developing yet. Future Games and Senior Future Games alum.
