It is officially that time once again, as our staff has updated the MD/DE Class of 2027 Rankings. In this edition, we highlight the top 100 players, including an in-depth look at three key risers inside the top 30. Click the link at the bottom for the complete top 100.

Jaidon Maxwell 1B / RHP / Linganore High, MD / 2027Rankings StateRank: 7 / POS: 1
The highest riser in the top ten, the Wake Forest commit sees himself climb to No. 7 in this update following a standout summer on the national circuit. The power has been on full display ever since his breakout performance at the 2025 Future Games, and nothing has dwindled in that regard. Legit whole field power with arguably the heaviest barrel in the state, Maxwell does not get cheated at the dish, and the consistent power gap-to-gap has the big 6-foot-3, 200-pound corner infielder primed for yet another huge fall.

Daylen Linton RHP / OF / Stephen Decatur, MD / 2027Maryland gets a dynamic arm back in state this year, as the wiry 6-foot-3, 175-pound right-hander transfers back to Stephen Decatur following a two-year stint at the TNXL Academy in Florida. While in the Sunshine State, Linton delivered a standout performance at the 2025 Future Games, which led to a commitment to Baylor University. Linton flashes an upper-80s fastball with hard arm side run, living down in the zone with the ability to compete at a high level in the zone. The slider showcases sweeping action down with high spin capabilities, mixing a killed-spin changeup that works well off the heater. Decatur enters the 2027 spring with a plethora of impact arms, and Linton now adds himself to the top of that list.

Trevor Collins C / SS / Urbana High, MD / 2027Rankings StateRank: 22 / POS: 3
The 5th-ranked uncommitted player in the state, the switch-hitting backstop continues to showcase one of the top hit tools in the state, leading to a rise inside the top 25 of this update. Possessing a true gap-to-gap line drive approach, Collins showcases the ability to spray line-to-line with pull-side power that continues to tick up month after month. Strong wrists with repeatable actions, look for Collins to make yet another statement this summer.
