2026 End of Summer Rankings Update: Class of 2027

Prep Baseball NJ Staff

After a full summer slate of looks across the Garden State, the New Jersey Class of 2027 continues to separate itself with real jumps in strength, athleticism, and on‑field consistency. Our latest update reflects those gains, with several prospects making meaningful climbs after showing improved measurables, sharper actions, and competitive performances against quality arms. This class has taken a clear step forward, and the movement inside the Top 100 mirrors the depth and projection we saw throughout the season.

This week we have release the rankings in two installement articles Highest Risers, and Newcombers. The final article of the updated rankings release will be a brief look at the new top 10.

Full Rankings: HERE

Finnian O'Loughlin OF / RHP / Delbarton, NJ / 2027

O’Loughlin holds firm at No. 1 in the end‑of‑summer update, and the résumé keeps getting louder. The Alabama commit brings a 6-foot-2, 191-pound frame with a polished swing, mature approach, and the type of athletic markers that separate elite outfield prospects. He’s a 6.6 runner with plus arm strength, a true hit tool, and real power projection baked into the body. With his blend of physicality, tools, and consistency, O’Loughlin is poised to be one of the most talked‑about names in the region over the next year.

Jack Nicholls RHP / 3B / Haddon Heights, NJ / 2027

Nicholls is a Tennessee commit who is ramping his way back to health after missing the High School season. Last summer he burst onto the scene with a quality outing at the Prep Baseball Future Games and continued to turn heads into the winter training season with a velocity uptick that had his fastball sitting in the mid 90s. When fully healthy, expect Nicholls to pick up right where he left off.

Brayden Longo OF / RHP / Mount Olive, NJ / 2027

Longo has been a steady riser in the rankings over the years and reached his highest ranking at 3rd overall. The Rutgers commit is a barrel chested, physical athlete that plays the game like his hair is on fire. He is a fierce competitor with a background in playing football as well. The 5-foot-10, 190-pound outfielder has produced 96mph outfield velocity, 6.57 speed, 104.1 exit velocity and 423 feet max distance, all upper quartile metrics to go alongside his ability to produce in games.

Cooper Burti LHP / OF / Cherokee, NJ / 2027

Burti is another elite prospect that has been slightly de-railed from injury. The Mississippi State commit essentially missed the entire High School season on the mound while still contributing to the Chiefs from the DH spot in the lineup. He is currently recovering from Tommy John surgery and will be must-see when he is back on the diamond.

Ricky Lopez SS / SS / Ranney, NJ / 2027

Ricky Lopez, Louisiana State University commit, has been a representation of consistency and production over the past couple of years. Lopez is a slick fielding shortstop that has the ability to stick at the position at the next level. He is a high IQ ballplayer that can also hit his way into any lineup.

Chase Colaianni RHP / DePaul Catholic, NJ / 2027

The highest riser into the top 10 is recent South Carolina commit Chase Colaianni. Colaianni left many impressed at the Prep Baseball Senior Future Games after his 2 innings of work. He displayed an advanced ability to attack hitters in the zone and record swings-and-misses with both fastball and slider. He touched 94 mph on the trackman and peaked over 2700 rpm on his slider. Look for Colaianni to be a dark horse this next season.

Michael Fekete RHP / 3B / Cherry Hill East, NJ / 2027

Fekete, Virginia Tech commit, is a physically imposing 6-foot-2, 220-pound right-handed pitcher that is known for his strike throwing ability. He has a starting pitcher repertoire and frame for the next level. Fekete owns a high school career strikeout-walk ratio of 183-42, over 4 strikeouts to every walk.

Joey DiMeo SS / 3B / Toms River East, NJ / 2027

DiMeo reenters the top 10 after a loud summer circuit, proving he can stack production against the nation’s best. At 6-foot, 186 pounds, the Boston College commit profiles as a true gap-to-gap bat with emerging all‑fields power and a mature feel for the barrel. The strength, competitiveness, and consistency he showed all summer point to a player trending upward—expect DiMeo’s name to keep climbing as he carries that momentum into the fall.

Jack Lerro RHP / SS / St Augustine Preparatory School, NJ / 2027

Jack Lerro sits atop New Jersey’s 2027 uncommitted board. It’s a true starter profile with real next‑level carry. At the Prep Baseball Senior Future Games, Lerro was one of the marquee arms—pounding the zone with a 94 mph fastball that showed late ride and induced-zone whiffs, the kind of trait that scales cleanly to college innings. The delivery, the competitiveness, the fastball metrics… it all points to a high‑ceiling arm still climbing.

Kyle McBride RHP / SS / Delbarton, NJ / 2027

Rounding out the top 10 is Wake Forest commit Kyle McBride. A reliable starting pitcher that possesses advanced command with an arsenal that can compete against the best hitters. A frame with more to come, expect an uptick in velocity in the near future to further raise McBride’s stock.
