2026 Top Prospect Games: Position Player Quick Hitters

The Prep Baseball South Carolina Top Prospect Games brought together some of the state’s top 2027-2030 prospects on Saturday, August 15, at Winthrop University. This invite-only event featured a talented group of players from across South Carolina, giving our scouting staff another opportunity to evaluate some of the state’s top prospects in one setting.
The Top Prospect Games remain one of Prep Baseball’s longest-standing class-specific events and have built a strong reputation for attracting high-level talent. Rosters are formed through past event performances, high school season evaluations, statistical production and continued looks from our scouting staff. The event provides another important look at players who have shown the tools, athleticism and performance to project to the next level.
The day began with a full position-player workout, including running, batting practice and defensive evaluations, before transitioning into live game action. Pitchers took the mound against live hitters, allowing our staff to evaluate players in a competitive setting following the morning workout. With the event complete, our staff now turns its attention to breaking down the performances, metrics and prospects who stood out at the 2026 SC Top Prospect Games.

Bailey showcased an intriguing combination of size, athleticism, and offensive tools throughout the event. The 6-foot-5, 205-pound right-handed hitter turned in an impressive 6.70-second 60-yard dash, showing high-end athleticism for his physical frame. At the plate, he produced a 97.6 mph max exit velocity with a 354-foot max distance, flashing present strength and the ability to drive the baseball with authority. He carried it into game action, blistering a double over the left fielder’s head and all the way to the wall, showing his ability to translate the raw tools into impact contact. The right-handed hitter produced a loud 105.6 mph max exit velocity during the workout, highlighting the impact potential in the bat. He also continues to improve his speed each time out, turning in a 7.12-second 60-yard dash. Bremmer carried his offensive tools into game action, smoking a base hit back up the middle, working a walk, and driving a deep fly ball to right field. His present strength, improving athleticism, bat speed, and ability to consistently produce hard contact give him an intriguing offensive profile. |

Ethan Crosby 3B / 1B / Gray Collegiate Academy, SC / 2027Crosby put together a strong workout, showcasing the strength and offensive tools in his physical 5-foot-9, 198-pound frame. The right-handed hitter posted a 95.8 mph max exit velocity with a 348-foot max distance, showing the ability to drive the baseball with authority when on the barrel. While the results did not show up in the box score during game play, Crosby continued to take aggressive swings and showed flashes of the same impact seen during the workout. His present strength and ability to generate hard contact highlighted a productive overall showing. |

The athletic 6-foot-1, 178-pound left-handed hitter turned in an electric 6.47-second 60-yard dash while posting a 93.9 mph max exit velocity and 360-foot max distance during the workout. He carried those tools directly into game action, producing a hard line drive to right field before launching a deep home run to right later in the day. Layton’s combination of speed, athleticism, and developing left-handed power gives him the ability to impact the game in multiple ways. |

Matthew McAdams 1B / LHP / J. L. Mann High Academy, SC / 2027Rankings StateRank: 129 / POS: 11
McAdams put together a big day offensively, consistently producing quality contact from the left side of the plate. The physical 6-foot-2, 231-pound left-handed hitter posted a 95.6 mph max exit velocity with a 359-foot max distance during the workout, showing plenty of present strength in the bat. He carried it into game action by collecting three hits on the day, including two singles and a double. McAdams showed the ability to find the barrel against live pitching and drive the baseball with authority, making him one of the more productive bats on the day. |

Pretulak showed a solid combination of athleticism and offensive ability throughout the event. The 6-foot-1, 175-pound left-handed hitter ran a 6.98-second 60-yard dash and posted a 93.7 mph max exit velocity during the workout. He carried a disciplined approach into game action, working a walk and staying on a pitch for a single into right field. Pretulak showed the ability to control the strike zone, use the opposite field, and put his athleticism to work once on base. |

The right-handed hitter collected a single, double, and home run, highlighted by a two-run shot driven out to left field. He also showed quality athleticism during the workout, running a 6.80-second 60-yard dash while recording pop times as low as 1.90 seconds behind the plate. Spotts’ combination of game production, developing power, speed, and catching ability made for an impressive all-around showing. |

At the plate, he displayed solid bat speed and stayed through a pitch to shoot a double down the left-field line, showing the ability to drive the baseball when on time. |

Ebeling showcased strength in the bat and the ability to produce extra-base impact during game action.
