Class of 2027 Rankings Update

With the summer circuit finally behind us, it is time for our staff to refresh the rankings before our fall circuit starts to take off. Between events and tournaments, there was a ton of action to be seen, with players making notable strides and raising their own stock.

Today, we are taking a look at some of the notable movement in the rankings, found below.

+ CF/SS Ira Hilbelink (Cedar Grove-Belgium): Minnesota commit. Sticking in the No. 1 spot, Hilbelink has continued to produce at a high-rate over the course of the calendar year. There’s the makings of an advanced hit-tool with minimal swing-and-miss and chase while impacting the baseball at a high rate, reaching near pro average EVs this winter as just a 16 year-old. Athletically the right-hander can profile anywhere on the diamond with easy above-average or better speed and plus arm strength to pair. It’s an exciting profile for a physical 5-foot-11 right-handed hitter that has a chance to be a five-tool player in the near future.

IMPACT POSITION PLAYERS


+ ATH/SS Kyle Rogosienski (Muskego): Vanderbilt commit. Toolsy athlete with bat speed and growing impact at the plate. Another athlete that can profile anywhere on the field athletically, including shortstop long-term with easy plus speed and a big arm to pair. Twitchy left-handed swing with natural feel to drive the ball on a line when on the barrel, when he gets going there’s real ingredients to produce at the top of the order at a high-level.

+ CF Chace Staude (Kettle Moraine): Notre Dame commit. High-level defender in center field that has been trending as a toolsy top of the order hitter. Still room left in the frame at 5-foot-11 with lean strength and twitch to pair with advanced bat speed as he has been growing into more pop as he has matured throughout his prep career.

+ OF Alex Michna (New Berlin Eisenhower): Butler commit. Was a recent standout at the Prep Baseball Senior Future Games were he continued his breakout as one of the top left-handed hitters in the state. Game power on top of an advanced hit-tool and bat speed that he has consistently gotten to in-game throughout the year.  

+ MIF Cooper Sievert (Wisconsin Lutheran): West Virginia commit. Middle of the diamond profile with steady gains to both the hit and power. Athletically will look to stick up the middle with enough arm strength for the left-side with feel and polish at a number of spots in the infield.

+ C/OF Logan Hagman (Hudson): Minnesota commit. The bat has a been the carrying tool since beginning his prep career. The athlete and physicality continues to tick up, looking more of the part of a potential middle of the order bat at the next level. Defensively has shown flashes of being a steady catch and throw defender, as well as a reliable corner outfielder.

+ 3B Cooper Schaefgen (Oconomowoc): Louisville commit. Another advanced hitter with  a history of performing against some of the top arms to come through the state. Advanced bat speed and strength with natural feel to lift the ball in the air, continuing to look the part of a middle of the order hitter at the next level. Sneaky athlete for the size with feel to defend the hot corner and enough arm strength for the left side of the diamond.

TOP-15 BATS


+ OF/LHP Kingston Grisolono (Kewaskum): Evansville commit. A two-way with tools on both sides of the ball. Physical left-handed hitter with some of the top bat strength in the state’s class with 6.83 speed to pair. Looks the part at all three spots in the outfield with natural arm strength/carry on throws that play at all three spots in the outfield. Arm strength also plays on the mound working in the upper-80s with life while showing feel to spin a breaking ball.

+ C/OF Jack Spielmann (Milton): West Virginia commit. Has been one of the top backstops in the state since beginning his prep career. Physically left-handed hitter with bat to ball traits and growing impact that looks to continue to tick up as he matures. Defensively the catch and throw continues to stand out, strong arm with a clean move to the bag with a ceiling as a defender. 

+ INF Brady Helms (Hartford Union): Penn State commit. Remains one of the top right-handed hitters in the state with a ceiling to reach yet both physically and at the plate. Still more room to grow into his physical 6-foot-1 frame that should only help improve the production at the plate. Consistent quality at-bats with seemingly natural barrel feel, there’s making of a versatile defender that can reliably defend multiple spots in the infield to pair.

UPSIDE STARTERS


+ RHP Jacob Coisman (Luxemburg-Casco): Cincinnati commit. Remains the top arm in the class, easy to like at a projectable 6-foot-3 frame with long levers with feel to spin. Ride and run fastball that has reached into the low-90s in the past with feel to spin a firm two-plane breaking ball that has looked like one of the better secondaries in the state at times. Flashed feel to kill spin on a fading changeup, starters look with a high-celing on the mound.

+ LHP Drew Stettbacher (Horace Mann): Cincinnati commit. Was the biggest winner of 2026 so far on the mound. The left-hander has been nails every time he has toed the rubber throughout the spring/summer seasons all the while looking more and more like a future starter with improved command from a funky low-slot. The fastball plays into the low-90s with feel to locate east/west, spins a mid-70s breaking ball, flashing a fading changeup.

+ LHP Cal Schneider (New Berlin Eisenhower): Louisville commit. Wiry and projectable 6-foot-1, 155-pound frame with room for added strength, Schneider presents the best pitchability in the state, utilizing feel to find the zone with three pitches including a mid-to-upper-80’s fastball, a breaking ball, and a changeup with heavy depth. 

+ LHP Mason Horn (Muskego): Purdue commit, a smooth-moving left-hander with the makeup to project as a starter, works with feel for a three pitch mix with an upper-80’s fastball, a slider, and a heavy changeup. Athletic mover out of a 6-foot, 175-pound frame with room to add. 

+ RHP Parker Broehm (Bay Port): Uncommitted, a recent winner for Team Heartland at the Prep Baseball Senior Future Games, Broehm presents an intriguing profile with an upper-80s fastball and a high-spin breaking ball to pair. It’s a potential starters look and the ability to put batters away stands out, out of a quick moving and wiry 6-foot-1, 165-pound frame with more to come. 

STILL ON THE MARKET…


+ LHP Cole Clarke (Oshkosh West) Authored the top outing at this year's Wisconsin State Games. Clear arm talent with a lively upper-80s fastball and feel to spin a sharp breaking ball that flashed swing and miss action.

+ RHP Hunter Buchan (Muskego) The secondaries are real and the velo continues to climb (T92.1 mph) and there’s more to come from the 5-foot-11 right-hander. Feel to spin/kill spin with over 32 inches of horizontal separation on the aforementioned secondaries at the Wisconsin State Games.

+ RHP Rhett Lamovec (Loyal) The makings of a power arm, standing at a hulking 6-foot-4, 229 pounds frame. Works down the mound with extension with three pitches, the fastball plays at 88-90 with late life and feel to locate. Two secondaries, a sweeping curveball that works as his go-to secondary while flashing feel to land a fading changeup in the zone.

+ MIF Nolan Julseth (New Glarus) A recent performer for Team Heartland at the Prep Baseball Senior Future Games, Julseth presents the makeup to stick in the middle of the infield at the next level, with athleticism that plays on both sides of the ball with a line-drive approach to all fields flashing feel to lift. Steady defender on the infield with arm strength to pair as a 6.71 runner. 

+ OF Carter Fry (Wisconsin Lutheran): One of the premier athletes in the state, Fry pairs bat-to-ball, power, and is a 6.44 runner with instinctive actions in the outfield. Presenting a 5-foot-11, 170-pound frame with room for added strength, the tools will only continue to progress.

+ MIF Cayden Burtness (Pewaukee): One of the top bat-to-ball talents in the state and coming off a spring campaign in which he batted .610 with a 1.543 OPS for Division 2 State Champion Pewaukee. Adjustability, athleticism, and motor stand out on both sides of the ball.

+ RHP Eli Dreier (Wisconsin Lutheran): Strong and physical 6-foot-2, 216-pound frame. A quick and athletic mover on the mound, Dreier presents a sturdy look with a high spin fastball and feel for two quality off-speeds and projects to be a high impact arm at the next level. 

+ SS/3B Nolan Mashak (Holmen): Athletic 6-foot-2, 177-pound frame.  A 6.58 runner with feel for the barrel and an all-fields line-drive approach, steady hands on the infield with body feel and adjustability. Mashak has the tools to project as an impact infielder at the next level. 

+ C Alex Solberg (New Richmond): Physical 6-foot-2, 220-pound frame with strength throughout. Solberg presents some of the most raw power in the class and has continued to trend upward. A steady defender behind the plate with arm strength and blocking ability to pair.
