Tobacco Road State Games

August 15–16, 2026 | Stick Williams Dream Field – Home of Queens University | Charlotte, NC

The 2026 Tobacco Road State Games brought together some of the top talent from across North Carolina for two days at Stick Williams Dream Field in Charlotte. The six-team roster featured players from the 2027–2029 classes, providing another opportunity for Prep Baseball scouts, college coaches, and professional scouts to evaluate many of the state's top prospects in one setting.

The State Games served as a culmination of Prep Baseball North Carolina's coverage throughout the preseason, high school spring, and summer circuit. The roster was built with players who performed their way into the event throughout the year, including standouts from the Preseason All-State, NC/SC Border Battle, and other events across the state. The field also featured players with experience at some of Prep Baseball's premier national and regional events, including the Future Games, Senior Future Games, Super Sophomore Games, and Junior Future Games.

With close to 20 college programs represented throughout the weekend, the event provided an opportunity for players to perform in front of evaluators while updating their Prep Baseball profiles. Position players opened the event with a pro-style workout, producing updated statistics, analytics, and video through a full offensive and defensive evaluation. Following the workout, players transitioned into game action, with each of the six teams playing two games over the course of the weekend.

Prep Baseball scouts were on hand throughout the event, collecting data, video, and evaluations. The coverage from the Tobacco Road State Games will continue with leaderboards, statistical analysis, scout notes, and player features highlighting the players and performances that stood out in Charlotte.

Athletic frame. Strength and quickness present. Left handed hitter has whip through the zone with strong hands and solid barrel feel. Unloaded on the baseball in the workout with advanced raw power, posting a max exit velocity of 100.0 mph, and lived on the barrel during his session, posting a remarkable 92.1 mph average exit velocity.

Alonzo Webster, SS/2B, Freedom Christian Academy, 2027
Athletic frame that suggest plenty of projection still available. Showed explosive lower-half power with a top-tier vertical jump of 23.0 inches, and displayed a strong, physical swing that produced a max exit velocity of 93.0 mph in the workout. Two hits in live game action, on the barrel for each single.

Jackson Cap, 2B/SS, Grace Christian Sanford, 2028
Athletic mover with twitch and strength in the limbs and hands. Switch hitter flashed at times in the box, living on the barrel during his session, posting a remarkable 89.0 mph average exit velocity. Defensively plays with excellent rhythm and easy carry across the diamond. Showed explosive lower-half power with a top-tier vertical jump of 24.8 inches.

Davis Kemp, 2B/SS, South Rowan, 2028
Good athlete. Solid mover with strength in the arm and hands. Good rhythm on defense with easy carry across the diamond. Will have a chance to stick on the left side of the field, firing strikes across the dirt with a high-end 90.0 mph infield arm. In the workout, produced elite-level peak impact, registering a max exit velocity of 98.0 mph.

Connor Kullman, OF/2B, Davidson Day School, 2028
Lean frame that will carry more weight as he continues to mature. Burned up the turf, clocking an impressive 3.8s in the 30-yard sprint, and tested as an elite athletic mover, registering a 26.3-inch vertical jump. Solid setup with the athleticism suggests the swing will continue to upgrade as he adds strength to the frame.

Landon Lewis, SS/3B, Leesville Road, 2028
Produced elite-level peak impact, registering a max exit velocity of 99.0 mph, and showed explosive lower-half power with a top-tier vertical jump of 23.3 inches. Good mover that should continue to see the athleticism impact the game play in the coming years.
