ALABAMA - With the summer circuit in the rearview mirror and the fall season beginning to take shape, our Best Tools series continues with a look at some of the top raw power across the state of Alabama. Each week, our staff will highlight a different tool, identifying prospects from multiple graduating classes who have consistently stood out through our evaluations.

This week, the focus shifts to raw power. For this exercise, raw power is centered on the maximum impact a hitter is capable of producing when the barrel connects. Metrics such as max exit velocity and max estimated distance provide measurable ways to quantify that ability, while our in-person evaluations of seeing and hearing the ball come off the barrel, along with the carry it produces, also play an important role.

As with many evaluations, these selections are subjective and are based on multiple looks at each prospect throughout the spring and summer. The emphasis here is on present impact and the type of power a player is capable of generating, rather than season-long statistical production.

Below, we identify our Top 5 Raw Power Tools in Alabama's 2027, 2028, and 2029 classes, followed by additional prospects in each class who warrant recognition.

THE 2027 CLASS 🎓

Brue Milner C / Tallassee, AL / 2027 Fresh off a jump to No. 3 in the updated 2027 rankings, Milner possesses arguably the best present raw power in the state. The 5-foot-10, 215-pound catcher has a strong, durable build with plenty of strength in the hands and massive juice at impact, producing a 104.8 mph max exit velocity and 409-foot max estimated distance at previous Prep Baseball events. The power translates to game action, as Milner still connected for 10 home runs this spring despite missing time due to injury and continued to show the same impact throughout the summer. There's legitimate double-digit home run potential in the profile once he gets to The Flats.
