Director's List: Uncommitted Pitchers

Max Semler shares thoughts on some uncommitted pitchers from the 2027 and 2028 classes who showed their stuff at Prep Baseball Texas events. Arms are listed in no particular order. These pitchers can continue to develop and become successful college arms. None have huge “now” stuff, but from my experience, they project.
Note: At the bottom of the list are a couple of 2028 arms who can pitch, show stuff, and get outs. Both are undersized physically right now but project to add size and strength.Keep in mind, this information comes primarily from bullpens and simulated games. I have seen some of these arms pitch in games, and the stuff has transferred to the mound. None of the pitchers who threw at the Future Games are included here.
Ryan Floyd | RHP | Liberty Christian | 2027 | 5’10” 175
Arm works and repeats the delivery. FB works 87-89, touching 90 at our events with 2200+ avg spin, and has shown better. Shows carry to the FB and is a strike thrower. SL works 79-81 with 2313 avg spin, showing depth and the ability to generate swing and miss. Action should continue to firm. Changeup is a developing pitch with tail/sink action. Has been a solid performer with his HS team and throughout the summer. Pitched for Cooperstown Cobras.
Ian Mulligan | RHP | Dynamic Prep | 2027 | 6’4” 205
Sidearm slot with an arm that works well and 8.6 avg extension. FB up to 91 with 2200 avg spin from the sidearm slot and has shown better. Pitches to both sides of the plate with developing comeback life to the glove side. Slider works 77-79 with slurvy/sweeping action, showing the ability to get RHHs to chase and miss while flashing the ability to get into and under LHHs' hands. Changeup works 81-83 with turnover tail/sink action and developing deception. Chance to start with a potential velocity jump coming. Pitched for Frozen Ropes Florence 18U.
Will Rainwater | RHP | Hebron | 2027 | 6’5” 180
Long arm action from a ¾ slot with 6.1 feet of release extension. FB has been up to 92 this spring, and the velocity projects to make another jump. Shows arm-side tail with slight sink. Throws strikes without present command. Slurvy breaking ball shows the ability to generate swing and miss. Pen arm right now with an expected velocity jump coming. Pitched for Stix 2027 Scout.
Roan Mohan | RHP | Burleson Centennial | 2027 | 6’4” 215
Big, physical build/frame. Arm works from a high ¾ slot. FB has touched 91, working 87-89 with tailing action and solid downhill plane. Has also shown the ability to execute the FB up in the zone with some effectiveness. CB works 74-76 with 2200+ spin and present depth, adding more tilt at times. Changeup shows fading action with fair deception. Flashed a cutter with 20+ IVB that has a chance to develop into another weapon. Starter future and a late developer. Pitched for Twins 17U Black.
Calvin Rippy | LHP/CF | Tyler Legacy | 2027 | 5’10” 160
Athletic and projects well physically for added strength. Arm works well. Strike thrower with command. FB has been up to 89 and worked 87 at a January event. Works both sides of the plate with avg life and an effective FB. Can spin the baseball, with both the SL and CB flashing quality action. SL works 78-80 with 2800+ spin, while the CB works 76-78 with 2600+ spin. Hard changeup is developing. Two-way player who is also a 6.6 runner in CF. Definite upside on the mound and will also be noted on the uncommitted position player list. Played for Dallas Tigers Ortegon.
Braeden Kaminski | RHP/OF/INF | Grapevine Faith | 2027 | 5’11” 195
Athletic two-way player with present strength and a build/frame that can add more. Repeats the delivery and arm action, and the arm works. FB up to 89 with more velocity coming. CB works 75-78 with 12-5 action and depth. Changeup showed action with deception. A 6.7 runner who will also be noted on the uncommitted position player list. Not sure how much time he has spent working on the mound, which adds some intrigue to the projection. Played for Dulin Dodgers 18U Cowser.
Kalum Garner | RHP | Decatur | 2027 | 6’3” 207
Physically will continue adding strength to an already solid build. Arm works with developing arm speed. FB up to 88 with downhill plane and the ability to elevate successfully, showing 2500+ spin. Slider works 75-81 and flashes quality action with 2200 spin. Changeup shows action with deception that should continue to firm. Look for the velocity to increase over the next year. Pitched for Stix 2027 Premier.
Jayton Mulkey | RHP | Caddo Mills | 2027 | 6’3” 194
Great build/frame to add strength. Repeats the delivery and the arm works. FB works 86-88 with carry up in the zone and 2300+ spin. Shows the ability to spin both the slider and CB at 2400+ RPM with solid action on both pitches. Changeup works 78-80 with fade. Upside arm who should throw harder. The spin is there and he throws strikes. Pitched for Frozen Ropes Florence 18U.
Jackson Hill | RHP | Grapevine | 2027 | 6’3” 206
Great build/frame to add strength. Repeats the delivery with a cutoff arm action in the back. FB up to 87 with a 2500+ avg spin rate. Shows the ability to spin both breaking balls, with the CB at 2500+ and slider reaching 2700+ spin. Chance to be a late bloomer. Brother of Dasan Hill, who was also a late developer. Arm to watch develop. Pitched for Stix 2027 Prospects.
Callen Corley | RHP | Stratford | 2028 | 6’1” 165
Great build/frame to add strength. Repeats the delivery and arm action with a full circle that works well. Arm speed should continue to increase. FB has been up to 90 with arm-side run and works downhill from a high slot. Slider works 77-80 with short breaking action. Changeup shows tail/sink with deception present. Athleticism is there, and the stuff has a chance to make a jump. Played for Houston Orange Wildcatters 2028.
Finley Wilson | LHP/CF | Melissa | 2028 | 5’8” 155
Athletic, young-looking player who will add strength and size. Legitimate two-way player who can pitch. Repeats the delivery and arm action. Have seen the FB up to 89, and it plays above the velocity with swing and miss up in the zone. Can also work effectively to both sides of the plate. Lands the breaking ball with depth and shows the ability to manipulate the action. Changeup has tail/sink with deception. Strike thrower who knows how to pitch. Don’t get fooled by the present size. Plus athlete with a 6.65 60 and a plus HS defender in CF. Will also be listed on the uncommitted position player list. Played for Wow Factor 2028 over the summer, now TB Dallas.
Maddux Dill | RHP | Corsicana | 2028 | 5’10” 163
Young-looking arm who will add strength and size. Arm works with a solid delivery and he can pitch. FB will add velocity and has topped at 87. Works down in the zone and can spin the baseball, showing avg action with 2500+ spin. Kick changeup stands out with action and deception and is presently his out pitch. Shows the ability to kill spin, getting as low as 735 RPM. Definite arm to watch develop.
